I remember one of the remaining members (I forgot who) saying something about Rico taking credit for everything so I guess that says something about him being the "main" lyricist and composer.

it is my opinion that they should've taken a new name instead of sticking with "Rivermaya". however way we might deny it, people will still compare the current band to the previous one, much like the the bamboo-rico rivermaya comparisons.

i think it would've been to their advantage had they changed their name; to start with a clean slate.

i hope the winner's voice will change in due time; it sounds too generic. its like listening to Piolo Pascual, or Christian Bautista, or any other popular balladeer. it would do them good if he finds a voice of his own.

and hindi lang yun ang kelangan nila,sympre kelangan nila ng malupit na kanta
gaya ng mga ginawa ni blanco,o sana mahigitan pa nila pero medyo nkakaewan
nalang isipin.opinyon ko lang pero parang hindi na nila kayang gumawa pa ng
malupit maya songs..
ibahin nalang sana yung name ng banda..

nah. mukhang okey lang naman. they looked for a new member, not a new "main songwriter/lead vocalist/everything rico left"

although, i always doubt auditions like this. parang di naman talaga nila kilala as a person. unless they act strictly professional, which i doubt would happen

naalala ko na nagpa-audition sila ng instrumentalists... semi finalist lang ako dun kasi nde ako naka-attend nung sa rj kase me exam ako anyway naalala ko na balak din ata nila kumuha ng song writer sa instrumentalists na makukuha?--- any word on this? sinu- sino na ba (if ever) ang nakuha kasi si jason lang ang nrrineg ko parati? i think me mga forum people den nag-audition both for the vocalist and instrumentalists categories... so sino nakaka-alam?

d ko type un bago nila vocalist. Parang kaliwa ang parehong paa in terms of rock star moves pag nasa stage. And their becoming more of a makamasa appeal. Sana d rin sila mashadu magjoke sa concert, parang 'porkchop' ang dating nila japs saka mike. Me bago na sila vocalist so baka maging 'tito vic and joey' naman tong mga to.

IMHO wala pa sya napoprove. we have to wait until then. pero i'm one of the fans na hoping for someone with potential to match or surpass rico blanco. madaming ganto, and its reality. the pressure is with him and good luck na lang sa kanya.

iba si rico eh....

pressure talaga ito hindi lang sa bago ngunit mas malaki sa mga natirang lineup.

if they dispose him later ( which is the same thing as a disband kasi magpapaaudition ka ba naman uli)
it just means rivermaya is basically for archive as one of the best filipino bands that we have came across during this lifetime........
im glad i had grown up with the music of the coolest band (with the likes of eheads etc etc)...

but who knows uli he he yan ang thrill ...

Dapat hindi na lang sila nagpa-Contest... (Sobrang sablay nung show... para kang nanood ng AMATEUR battle of the bands... compared sa standards ng Rivermaya ha....

Sana nag-hanap na lang talaga sila ng Veteran Vocalist... Kasi parang "back to square one" na naman ang 'maya eh.

You can't live on "Reputation" alone....

(Pero let's wait and see na lang. I could be wrong. Hehe...)
