Sarado rin ba utak mo sa ibang genre???

i'm into rock and metal eversince, but my band plays pop/pop rock. my day job involves a variety of music. from my experience, it's a good thing to pick some thoughts from different genres of music.

Depende sa genre.
Natural lang sa isang artist ang maging biased. Meron naman talagang mga genre na walang substance at pera lang ang habol.

ang di ko maintindihan sa iba sa atin.. nakkinig sila ng rock, metal, jazz, punk, blues, etc.. tapos pag nalaman nilang nakikinig din yung kakilala ng same music nila tapos malalaman na nakikinig o may cd ng hiphop or rnb, sasabihin kagad nila na poser.. well pano naman yung mga bandang sandwich, kjwan, cambio, slapshock, chicosci, pedicab, etc.. nabanggit nila na nakkinig sila ng hiphop/rnb sa mga radio interviews at live performances pero nakkinig din sila ng genre na nabanggit ko sa taas.. so poser sila?

parang pagkain lang yan eh. yung iba gusto filipino foods, italian, mexican cuisine.. so pag trip ng iba korean or japanese food sasabihin ba natin silang pangit taste nila sa pagkain?

naalala ko sinabi ni marc abaya sa isang gig "who ever said that hiphop sucks? what kind of shi.t is that?! music is music! just have fun!" ..then nag play sila ng grip stand throw song <s>

Lito Camo = Pop/novelty

dahil lahat ng kanta niya ay nasa genreng Pop/Novelty, you are implying na wala na ring substance ang mga kanta ng eraserheads kasi they almost belong in the same genre. tingin ko kahit nga yung mga kanta ni yoyoy villame, nakakatawa mang pakinggan, injected pa rin ng kulturang pinoy yung mga kanta niya.

genres are just genres. to say that a particular genre sucks would be unfair to some, if not all, artists.

hehe. cool lang mga kapatid. My story naman is I grew up watching my dad and his band play in his showband, so i had a very deep library of music stored up in my cranium. So in the process of growing musically, I developed a taste for everything, from standard, jazz, to metal, death metal, I listen to them all, but I listen to songs that I find appropriate to my current mood. hehe. In writing music naman, Im proud to say that I can make melodies for pop, rock, metal, and slow love songs, etc. Except for jazz, masyadong mahirap. hehe. The bottom line is, we all should appreciate all kinds of music to be considered a real musician or music lover.
Wag sana natin kalimutan that music adds color to our lives, and what more could we ask for from music? Diba ang sarap makining ng mga kanta that would make us smile and sing along?.. Mapa ballad pa yan or screamo, sarap sabayan eh. hehe. Enjoy the music guys. PEACE!!!

How do we define radio-friendly songs? Kapag ba gusto na ng marami eh radio-friendly na? May instances na yung 'alternative' ngayon will be 'pop' (popular) bukas, thereby becoming radio-friendly

Anyway, genres are there for commercial classification and consumption, he he he. Pero marami ring artist/bands na ayaw ma-pigeon hole sa isang genre, kasi limiting. Problema yan ng ibang banda na na-akusahang naging sell-out kasi may naging hit na kanta/album. Marami rin kasing fans/listeners na the moment na nagustuhan na ng marami ang isang artist/band eh baduy na ang tingin nila

Even some jazz veterans avoid listening to their records for fear of repeating themselves subconsciously. So depende sa tao at sa vision nya as an artist.imo

I believe there are many artists in a certain genre that are truly hate-able, but there are some that are truly the masters in their craft.
