MXR Flanger/Doubler, in the doubler setting, so start playing with your delay/harmonizer/chorus parameters.

All these settings, pedal combinations and whatnot, will not even get you close enough to sounding like Dime if you're using a tube amp. What made Dime's sound and tone so unique is the fact that he dedicatedly favored solid-state amps over tubes. Believe it or not, Dime's signature tight, deep, headcrushing, hard-grinding tone all came from his solid-state Randalls. Yes, solid-state Randalls.

Then again, tone is in the fingers.

This...Plus it involves sound engineering Wizardry....you can NEVER copy Dimebag's studio sound though, lalo na yung lead tone niya sa Vulgar Display Of Power...dami kayang layering ginagawa niya...sa live naman, posible pa

He once had three of those Randalls mixed down to one track... then doubled the riffs/solos on the same rig.    I'm not sure if he uses the doubler effect live though, di ko actually pinapansin.

A lot of people don't like his tone though  sakto lang sakin. I don't like it as a metal tone (bring back the mids!), but it's "The Pantera Sound," and there's a reason people like TS want the dime sound  :-D

ewan ko, pero the way i see, Dime's tone is very stable due to the choice of using the solid state rather the tube, and the mids are really pulled down, i think the sig amp that were made was a derived version of a Randall that he used. about the pedal he uses, men i think he doesn't even use his sig pedal MXR Dime Dist. though hearing it can make you realize it could o it could not sound as what Dime's tone is. that pedal isn't high gain at all, it's mid scooped, really really scooped.

Shameless plug ++> Sorry OT, hehe, TS if you're looking for a MXR Dime Dist, i'm letting mine go, PM me, hahah!

Yes, his signature amp is a true mod of the amps he uses, may EQ ata na sinalpak dun sa model na gamit nya. And yes he doesn't use his signature pedal, pero syempre para sa practice nya, or for people like us who don't have access to Randall solid states cranked up to ear splitting levels.

IMHO, I think his tone was mostly recording technique more than anything else (besides the way he plays).

ang hanap ata kasi ni TS yung tunog sa mga album na pag nasa high register na tapos may mga squeals may effect na flanging whatever.
Recording technique na lang talaga yun. A combination of double tracking, deliberate sloppy double tracking, and that MXR flanger/doubler rackmount effect, which I think manually pinipihit nung guitar tech nya.

so yeah kung sa live tone nya, sapat na yung ultra scooped distortion tone, adjust gain to chug chug taste tapos hanap ka ng delay pedal na may super short delay, or flanger na papasa.

I think he uses zakk wylde mxr distortion.. Never siyang gumamit ng signature dime distortion niya.
Then tapos guitar pick up i think is bill lawrence pick up. Pero try mo seymour duncan dime bucker sig niya rin yun.
