That's an easy fix if you're mechanically inclined. Mine has a similar problem if you drive it hard or use it for extended periods, but I easily figured out that a component was coming loose - can't remember exactly at this time. Might mod mine in the future, but I'm going to get a real compressor with air tank soon. I miss the old compressor I had... had a huge tank (25+ liters est.).Don't handpaint them, but if you have to, try Vallejo paints.

Are you handy with a screwdriver? Often a metal pin just comes loose causing the compressor to fail. You can save 2k by taking a peek.
WOW!sir may I ask, are you also painting the insides? I think model kits like this also has details. It would also be great if you have any picture lying there.
