1st i get the tempo of the song (for example, 100 bpm), then i divide it by 60 (seconds) - you get 1.600 for a whole note-value delay time. divide that by 2, you get .800 for a half-note value, divide it further by 2, .400 is quarter note, .200 for eight-note... etc.
i know i have a chart at home that even has values computed for triplets and dotted notes, di ko lang hinahanap pa. i pretty much do the same thing for phaser/flanger settings, tas yung mix ko ng original sound and effect is at about 80% orig, 20% effect, depending on the sound i'm after.
yung sa final decision, from what i remember, i used a plug-in for the phaser effect, which was added na sa mix. di kasi ako masyadong magamit nun, but when i was mixing the song, napagtripan ko lang and na-typan ko na rin kaya ayun... also, most of the time i will use that computation kung delay-effect talaga ang gagamitin ko. otherwise, if it's just a chorus or phaser, di ko na masyadong kinakarir & i just listen if it sounds nice (to me)
