It was natural finish, 2 HB Strat copy with switches for in- and out-of-phase. Very verstatile talaga for blues, rock, slide, etc. so it played dozens of gigs, concerts, etc.  At one gig, nilapitan ako ni RJ at hinawakan yung gtr ko after kami tumugtog.  Sabi nya kilala nya raw yung mismong gtr na un. Natuwa ako for him pero at that time I was already itching to play traditional Strat and LPs. I sold the gtr shortly after that for I think 2,000 pesos!!!  Hey, how would a kid like me know, d b?

Yup the pushbutton switches wre Mang Rudy Trademarks. He got it from the Jaguar technology of pickup configuration.

Bayaan mo syang mag, po!  Old skool values, bro.  Bihira na nga yan e.

Heh, heh... alam ko... binibiro ko lang siya...  :D

Sinabi mong bihira na nga yan.  Dito nga sa Dallas, bihira kang makakakita ng batang Pinoy na nag-mamano.  Kakainis.

Bro, you don't have to go that far!  Dito mismo sa Pinas nawawala na yan. I was brought up with traditional values and I plan to bring up my daughters the same way. How can todays kids respect other people if they can't respect their own parents, d b?

talaga?  I would appreciate it if you can post some pictures.  I used to hang-out at Robinson's to chat with Rudy about guitars especially pickups.  Rudy was a true gentleman.   Did he custom-made it for you?  I would be happy to know on Rudy's take on creating a 335.  Did he do any innovation from the gibson's design?  thanks in advance.

I believe I posted it in one of the threads here that, well, ask people to post pics of their gear. Just look for it. :D

I dont think it was an exact copy but my god, the wood is just so gorgeous.

i recently bought a Seven string RJ Ibaņez replica. ok naman, though hindi ko alam kung anong wood yung body, parang malambot na kahoy nung binuksan ko yung likod.

during the time na pumipili ako, 2 yung choices ko, the other one is a maroon Les Paul replica 7k ++ sale sya last month. astig yung tunog, very bright and clean, nice sustain and in terms of tone wala ako masabi, nice neck pa - very comfortable to play, kaso since gusto ko mag-explore ng bagong horizon kaya i ended up buying the 7 string with licensed floyd rose tremolo, though i'm not that satisfied with the way it sounds, palit na lang ako siguro pick up.

i got my seven-string Ibaņez replica for 7,900++ nakalimutan ko na exact price, pero sale sya that time. i brought it to one of our friendly luthiers to have it checked and here is his diagnosis:

- intonation has some discrepancies

- wood:
neck-a combination of maple and unidentified china wood
    body- basswood

- the frets have some discrepancies also, though very minor, and almost just like the measurement of a real Ibaņez

- truss rod is fine

- Pickups are not made in the philippines (korea yata)

- licensed floyd is also from korea

- string buzz in some areas

recommendations:

- have it intanated

i also want to lower the action and some major re-sculpting would be done on the body and neck to give easier acces to the higher frets. if necessary, fret levelling din siguro.

if you have the money, bili ka na lang siguro ng real Ibaņez, i just bought mine because i'm planning to use it as a "lab rat" ... planning to have it modified  heavily to my liking, e sayang naman kung totoong Ibaņez ang kakatayin ko di ba? :)

if it sounded good eh di ayus :) promising naman yung guitara so far...

about amps, P2,200 reg price nya bro, yun yung pinakamura, pero pangit tunog.

pero as i have mentioned earlier in this forum, meron silang magagandang guitars, tsambahan na lang siguro, basta i try mo lahat ng type mo para makapili ka ng suited sa taste mo.

have you checked out the yamaha and washburn packages?
