My personal choice:

BSIAB w/ passive EQ (the pedal pictured here is owned by Jorel Corpus of Kjwan)


Why? It can be a smooth OD, when gain is set on low. It is not harsh and metallic sounding when set on low gain, unlike most high gain/"metal" pedals. It also totally kicks the BEEhind of the stock MT-2 in terms of chugging and high gain stuff. So practically, it covers low gain, to high gain stuff. :-)

Honga bro.

I may seem biased but I don't think I like any of the Boss dirt pedals stock. The MT2 sounds like ipis, the DS1 is too fizzy, the DS2 matalas, the MZ2 manipis, MD2 masakit sa ulo. The BD2 is manipis. The DF2 is also matalas cuz it's a DS1. The HM2 and HM3, forget 'em they're lil POS's IMHO of course. FZ2, medyo ok pero masyado kulob ang tunog.

Ahhh hindi...the SD1 is kinda "ok" although it's a low gain pedal.  Ewan ko...a year and a half of pedal modding DIY and experimentation must have made me jaded.

Lessee... the only pedals that I liked stock are the TS9, TS7 and ironically, the Behringer GDI21. Siguro naman not counted ang bowteek although I really love Psychic Sushi's Tube Zone and the Zen Drive. Speaking of which, also look at the Behringer GDI21 for a great cost-to-tone ratio. If it's a tonesucker, don't worry, I got a mod that mitigates the tone suck. And also the thing it copied, the Sansamp GT2. Those are really very versatile.

as of now... having 2 dirt pedals... i'm still looking for a tone na hindi NGO-NGO... mt-2 with an eq.. ngo ngo padin.. sd2 bitin eh...

siguro for me ok na ung mt-2 with or without an eq...

i think that if you're really OC about tones (like most guitarist) it's very hard to find stock pedals, dirt in particular that can be called an all around pedal. personally, i'd mod the pedal to get the best tone out of it coz somehow it would be more "personalized" so to say.. :-)

sir bamf, can't wait to get my pedal modded.. plus i'm very curious about your modded mt-2.. hehehe.. hintayin koh lang gumaling ang pilay sa kamay koh :lol:

i dont know with you guys. the BOSS MT-2 sounds okay with me, with the freedom of the 'timpla' factor (i can make it sound like an overdreive, a rock n' roll distortion or a metal monster and so on..). maybe it's just really a matter of personal preference..

lagyan mo pa Sir ng extra footswitch for BOOST (like COT50,java)... then A/B mo nalang para sa boogey and booster...then ON/bypass sa isa...hehehe!!!! sayang kasi yung space ng case.... :-D

Distortion ba kamo? well i had my MT-2 modded by Ricabb, and it sound great.. nawala ung 'nasal' and it's really heavy with choice.. chuga-chuga? this is it.. then when i want an Overdive pedal, i just use my modded SD-1.. good choice between Dirt & Dist...

Go get a DS-1 try it stock kapag nagsawa ka na madami mods jan for a stock DS-1 the BRIT MOD is a must try :-D

i'd definitely agree with greg...i've had a couple of OD/dist pedals before but went back to the first pedal i bought back in '95...a boss SD2...keeper talaga tong pedal na to... 8-) 8-) 8-)
