musicians play whatever music they want to play. Hindi naman kelangan na akma sa edad ng tao, youth oriented or such. Natural lang din na magbago ang imahe ng isang tao kasi we all mature over time.  Pero its still our choice if we want to change along with the times or just go and stay with the formula.

just play what you want to play. nasa musikero rin naman e

@ermonski, im not saying that i wanna play whatever, im just getting  point of views regarding musicians such as eric clapton who changes over time and rolling stones who still prefers to rock as they were before. certainly they play what they like

and if you watch over other artist, some evolve over time like David Bowie who is a an old but still rocks. and I like his stuff.

Well you asked. I'm 54 and have a beautiful granddaughter. Here's me playing in the rock cover band I play in with a bunch of friends when we played last August 19. This band gigs about 3 times a year. The other band I play in, is my band Mo Sayk, which will be coming out with a CD this coming spring.

nice one :) will it be released here in the phil?

Hindi rocker pero influenced almost every musician after him. Les Paul played his guitar till he died.  May reports nga na bumabagal na daw cya kasi may arthritis na for years but he kept on playing. He died at the age of 94 and was still playing. May this man rest in peace.

imo rocknroll is really a young man's game, from the lifestyle, the image, the mentality behind the music and lyrics etc. no offense to the aging/aged rockers who are still doing it but i would be embarrassed to still be singing about magicians and dragons and the "struggle to make it" and all the other trappings that go with being a hard rocker when i hit my 40s. unless youre as awesome as dio, peyaps, hanopol etc etc medyo katawatawa na e IMO lng ha...

that said...there is a way to grow up gracefully into "senyor" rocker-dom. my favorite example is nick cave who i always describe as "adult contemporary punk"...still fiercely uncompromising, refreshingly lacking in pouting/posing/prancing/primping/poofting unlike say...aerosmith (mad respect pa din) and as seen by recent grinderman persona, still musically relevant

and that is what is important to me: relevance. again no offense to anyone who's still doing it and doing it well but i personally find the idea of playing/singing songs i wrote when i was 19 a bit cheezy® 20 years on. medyo wala akong pasensya sa nostalgia. im not saying i wouldnt have fun playing some old songs onstage with the old boys for laughs but to make a career out of a nostalgia act? ehrm...no

syempre mas mahirap na magbuo at mag maintain ng originals band pag tumanda ka na (ako) for one thing, wala ng time at stamina makabuo ng kanta with a band, for another thing yung mga ka-edad mo wala ng time para sa mga ganung walang kwentang bagay kaya happy na sila sa pagtugtog ng mga nostalgia pieces, "reliving the glory days" ika nga. hanap ka naman ng mga bata either may sarili na silang agenda or hindi ka man lang papatulan. kaya nag te-techno nalang ako e, ako lang magisa so no dealing with other peoples egos (just mine hehe), i dont have to jump around or do splits on stage, and more importantly i can play original, relevant and fresh music while maintaining a regal, dignified air behind my gear hehe

pasensya na mga iho medyo napahaba. ganyan talaga kaming mga matanda medyo long-winded. i have to change my diapers now and take a nap

The Red Hot Chili Peppers are my heroes. That's my greatest influence in guitar playing. I want to do what they said.

In an interview, they said that they're going to make music until they die. But of course, they also fear aging. Good thing that they still have their energy to rock out. :)

I love those guys.

yah Keep on rocking mehn yeah

Only God can stop us old timers to keep on rocking! :-D
