Tone... does it come from your Gear or from you?
« on: July 02, 2007, 09:19:34 AM »
I believe that it comes from you... some tend to disagree.. I believe that you can play through the best gear or the worst gear in the world and still sound like yourself... Ive noticed that some cats here put too much emphasis on gear... what do you guys think...

decent gear = decent tone
good gear = good tone
lotsa practice = great tone

don't go overboard trying to debunk an extreme point of view with another extreme point of view.

here we go again...

my answer is:  both.  if you've got good gear, but you play bad, then you'll get bad tone.  if you play well but have bad gear, then you might get an okay tone that will pale in comparison to your ideal tone.

OMG NOT THIS AGAIN... PLEASE USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION.

Do we really need another one of these threads again? and again? and again? and again? This has been discussed before... please revive the thread instead of starting a new one. Mods maybe we should put it in the FAQ How to use the search function para hindi pa ulit ulit yung thread.

It will just end up with people arguing .... coz is SUBJECTIVE.  :-o :? :x

I already posted the link to the search function at the Rules and Regulations thread. Also, there is a Google Custom Search tool at the upper-right hand part of the forum page.

Newbies, please search first before posting redundant threads. I don't want to delete your threads as much as possible so read up first.

Due to the complaints of the other forumites, this thread is locked.
