usb security will stop those viruses in removable storage... it will install an autorun.inf file itself in the flashdisk because it needs to but it is not a virus... or you can use bitdefender 2010. the best AV software there is... with the best support... or you can use sunbelt vipre. a close runner-up to bitdefender. avira didn't do squat except hog system resources. as well as the other AV software out there... most of them are resource hogs... bitdefender and sunbelt vipre are fast, have good detection and does not hog system resources.

you can still disable autorun then scan the removable media but in my experience, even if autorun is disabled, some viruses or worms or such other malware can still run and infect your PC.  it's in how they are coded... that's why i like win7 with it's user account control.  also sunbelt Vipre has an option to inform you if a program wants to run. that's what malware are anyway, small programs designed to cripple the system... a good AV with real time security is the best option in combating this threat.

in my opinion, avira is not good. i would recommend bitdefender, microsoft essentials and better to install deep freeze so that system would be affected by any changes.

>>>>virus, worm, trojan, rootkit, keylogger  etc

Virus and other malwares will always manage to infect your PC's due to the fact that some of these malwares target certain security holes/vulnerabilities in your computer's Operating System.

So aside from a good antivirus, It's also a good point to ensure your PCs have the latest security patches / hotfixes to address these vulnerabilities that these malwares exploit.

Just my two cents..  :)

This.

IMO, there is no such thing as bulletproof AV (I might be wrong, correct me nalang  :-D). The exploits are constantly evolving, kaya nga ang dalas maglabas ng hotfixes and AV updates.

Just be aware kung anu yung pinupuntahan mong site, dinadownload mong apps, etc. Pag alam mong may risk, just be sure na kaya mong ayusin ang damage.
