Lyric had these some years ago.  Based on the parts and packaging, they look like they're sourced from the same kit manufacturer. 

If they are:
- most of them are basswood
- most of them have ceramic pickups
- most of them have vintage frets
- most are bolt-ons (even the LP types)
- some measurements are slightly off (of course, to protects against law suits)
- hole positions are also slightly off

many shortcomings. its not a value for money product.

that being said, if you're into diy, or look at these as a modding/upgrading platform, they are worth it.  i built one of my tele's from one of these kits, and that's where i learned how to do guitar setups, mods, and wirings.

the doubleneck sg kit at glorietta is mighty tempting.

is this the same as the RJ branded pinewood strats that they sell for around 6-7k? kung ganun...mas mura to. pwede.

pero, like what others suggested, mas astig sana kung hindi lang kit ang ibebenta nila. sana meron din by piece para pwede ka mamili kung ano lang parts ang bibilhin mo sa kanila.
personally, interested lang ako sa body and neck. perfect platform for a project frankenstrat

Ang mga nabasa ko dun sa mga link ni jeba_03 may mahogany baka yun yun? but even if it's just pinewood, pwede na rin. Actually just give me a body and the neck and the jackplates, ok na ako.

@starkiller if taken as it is, mahal sya actually, sa tuners pa lang uneasy na ako but like you said, if youre buying it for the tinkering side of things, it's worth it, because really, you just pretty much paid someone to machine guitar blanks for you to assemble. Half the fun of owning it is from making it. hassle nga lang ang neck upgrades, the other holes, especially face plates, minsan naman di talaga nagmamatch

basta kumpleto assembly instructions. kahit mala ikea 

wag kayo mag-alala sir, nasa manual din kung anong guitar sounds ang meron yan. pero balita ko dalawa na lang daw kasi masyado na raw marami yung sa super vintage: rhythm sound tsaka lead sound

BTT: I wonder how different the pickups in these kits are from the ones in regular RJ items. There is that chance it does sound better

parang gusto ko dumale ng isa then make mah own frankenstrat, one houndwound pickup set up and all pero filled with all sorts of switches so i can get the sound of 50 guitars coz RJ can only make his mimic the sounds of 5

Sana nga ganito na lang gawin nila, magbenta na lang sila ng parts and develop some sort of rep for DIY's In my humble opinion mas magandang option ito and mas malawak ang magiging market nila. Imagine if this is all they sell, various guitar parts for different types(kahit traditional types lang muna) tapos they provide the option that they can assemble it for you.

Tapos they create some sort of a DIY community.  That's a good way to go.

Pero nauna ko nakita yung mga ganitong DIY types sa LYRIC. Maybe they're catching on?

It just means Lyric is doing something right where guitar merchandise is concerned. OR the supplier was pushing these kits to retailers, and RJ is one of the last ones to do so.

well, YGWYPF, i think is the reviewer's summary of it all. so kung half price pa yung strat kit s RJ, I guess we shouldn't expect a too- nice kit. siguro kaya gumawa ng slightly better version ng RJ Strut na low-end.
