I totally agree with you sir! si Portnoy kahit hindi ganoon ka kakaiba yung mga solo nya pero naman yung mga odd times! wew, pinapakanta niya yung drums!

Bonzo, Dave Grohl & Matt Cameron: Groove+swing, power+dynamics. They all lock in with the everyone and everything: bassist, guitarist, vocalist, and the song. They contribute to their band's sound so much that without them, their bands will sound like sht.

Marco Minneman: The things he does might be complicated but are all down-to-earth, practical, and musical.

Tony Williams: The way he plays makes me think he's an artist who just happens to be a musician who just happens to play drums.

In songs, his drum lines are usually kept simple. But when the chorus is about to kick in, he blows my mind with a kick a@@ fill.
No unnecessary BS, its groove and occasional fills, being the solid foundation that a drummer needs to be.

AND he plays a solo like my mama makes adobo!!! OMFG!!!

Matt Sorum

Personal reason: He and Matt Sorum are the only drummers that matches my prefference. Metallica is my personal favorite band of all time... Live wise, Lars kicks @$%... Connects with the audience well... thought di sa ganun kagaling sa solos (speaking of Lars).. I really like the kits, stick and cymbals that he endorses.. All in all, I really love the power and stamina of the old guy....
On Matt... Same as Lars' the difference is, Matt has a nice drum solo... (Pero di na yata nya pinalitan yung pattern.. yung yung na-criticize sa kanya)

Too many to mention. 

Why do I like them? Because every time I watch them, mas ginaganahan pa akong magplay. In most situations, after I watch them, I need to go find the nearest kit asap.

Stewart Copeland
- He's a late bloomer when it comes to drumming, but he pulled it off.
- He drew his inspirations so well that he developed his own distinct style. You don't know exactly to whom he owes certain beats and fills.
- "Walking On the Moon". Period.
- He's one of the most creative drummers ever, turning around preconceived notions about pop, rock and punk drumming.

Teddy Campbell - gusto ko yung pagiging versatile nya. kahit anong music (dapat lang kasi drummer ng american idol haha)
Pat Torpey - Siya talaga yung unang unang influence ko sa rock, kala mo simple yung mga ginagawa nya pero hanep yung application nya sa mga songs.
Dave Weckl - Tinatanong pa ba? hehe

Carter Beauford of Dave Matthews Band - highly skilled drummer, can play several percussion instruments simultaneously. unique style, specially broken hats, their songs like "satellite", "say goodbye" and "#41". sarap ng feel "(malibog sa tenga)"

Simon Phillips of Toto, "my all time favorite", very creative, flexible, galing mag-out pero dikit parin, galing mag experiment at sa kanya ko lang nalaman ang 33/8, 7/4, etc. and other odd time grooves.
