razorback. nabreak nila ticket sales ng saguijo, gweilos, 70's bistro and kung performance naman laging 110% mapapanood mo sa kanila. hinde puro porma. tugtugan lang tsaka pagkaramiraming beer. :D

corny na yata toh, pero RAZORBACK parin.
i've been watching alot of the new (no offense) bands now and they still don't give the kind of performance and music i've come to associate with razorback. yung cameraderie, patawa, musical h*ly [gooey brown stuff] that was amazing, etc.
even bands that started out along the same time as razorback (i.e. greyhoundz) can't seem to reach imbibe the same vibe i get listening to a razorback performance.

bamboo - a rock band getting ready to play some really hi quality music in the future hehe.
kamikaze - rakistang banda para sa mga tambay kanto tapos magaral hehe na may pinoy humor tlga.
imago - nice catchy song writing with more to come. medyo sosi na ata dating nila sa ibang tao hehe.
hale? - bwahahaha!....barilan nyo na lang ako ng pellet gun with 700 fps LOL!
yet parang nagiimprove na song writing at lyric writing nila. spaces on their lyrics are now getting filled...bwahahaha adik!

'novelty rock' isn't what pinoy bands are all about. i think i was right when i thought you haven't explored the pinoy rock music scene yet. are you familiar with the pinoy bands listed in this thread? haven't you noticed that no one of them fit for the 'novelty band' title? true. there are loads of profit oriented bands in town today, i just hope they wouldn't represent the entire pinoy rock music in the minds of some people.

IMHO... Kamikazee made the OPM Rock Scene more appreciated even to ordinary people that doesnt really like Rock Music.

Siguro ang pinakamalupet na banda para sa'kin ngayon ay ang kiko machine :-D sila siguro yung isa sa mga underated na banda ngayon.
Pagdating sa live performance talagang wala akong masabi,talagang entertainment in the highest level itechh :-D Sobrang versatile pa ng musical style nila they can do almost any genre, napakinggan ko nga yung demo nila ngayon at biruin mo may jazz sila, as in jazz! Kumbaga mapa-tenga at mata kaya nilang i-please.
At higit sa lahat ay isa sila sa mga fore fathers ng "NOYPOP" movement (ayon sa mga rock critiques) na ang hula nila ay ang next phase ng Filipino band scene. Ito yung emergence ng mga "uniformed" bands. Na sa palagay ko ay unti-unting napapansin :-D (Kiko Machine,Itchyworms,Pedicab,Bloomfields,jeepney joyride etc.)
Pero I think sa Kiko Machine ang credit :-) Opinyon ko lang po "peace"

Man if these bands would storm the local scene again I'm pretty sure they'll put the so-called "great bands" of today back to where they belong, at the back of the line (lalo na yung mga nagpapaka rockstar put*ng ina!)
Oh also Kapatid (whatever band Karl sings for would probably be great)

Siguro mas magandang i-ganito na lang ang question : sino ang "pinaka-malupit" na banda ngayon na pwedeng maging future ng filipino rock scene. Yung pwedeng ikwento at ipagmalaki sa mga magiging apo natin sa future hehehe :-D Yun pwedeng maging pride ng "2000+" filipino band scene ( so abswelto na rito ang mga legends na active pa ngayon gaya ng the dawn,rivermaya etc.) So labanan na lang 'to ng mga new breeds :wink:
I have to agree with kila kila Pwede ang Kiko Machine sila ang underground na hindi :roll: and their song "Pulp" is a statement,para siyang satire tungkol sa band scene ngayon. Sa una akala ko mababaw pero nung inisip ko malalim. And their effort para mag-uniform kada gig medyo nakakagulat.First time ko sila napanood sa Fete akala ko nagcostume lang sila for that particullar event pero na-astigan ako nung nalaman ko na every gig pala ganun.
Kasama rin sa listahan ko ang Bamboo at Kamikazee talagang astig! :-)

Like I said their all good. Their all malupit. I appreciate all kinds of music, rock, jazz, etc. Some people like the group because of their messages and their beliefs etc.

"pinakamalupet" will always be subjective, kasi iba-iba definition dito. even if you come up with a definition or a set of rules, subjective pa rin because music is in itself subjective.

pinakamalupet na band for me would mean that that specific band would make the 'most perfect sense'; a band whom i could connect most to and essentially be touched by their talent and music. any genre would do as long as i can relate to them anytime of the day. or even if i grow old, mapapatalon pa rin ako to cheer for them. :evil:

all of them are slow when it comes to tagalog, but they speak and understand enough for talking purposes. hehe
i very much agree that Urbandub has been one of the greatest bands after the 90's boom (wolfgang, razorback, pot, rivermaya and e-heads) recording and live-wise.
hands down talaga ako sa Urbandub. they're one ass-kicking band. performance-wise and musicality-wise; it doesn't matter if you're an ignorant lister or an experienced musician; you'd still appreciate how they're doing what they're doing.
