THE EQUALIZER:EQ users club Post your EQ setting here!
« on: March 26, 2014, 03:02:00 PM »

Im a huge EQ Guy, I find the EQ pedal really useful to shape the sound and be sort of a control point for your sound..I set my EQ mostly flat..with most of the sliders just close to 0..

kayo? paano kayo mag set up ng EQ?

Hmmm .. akin setting ko right now sa Zoom G3 ko (6-band only) is ganto:

(from low - high freq.)

For heavy riffing stuff: 5 2 -3 0 5 3

Solo: 0 0 5 6 3 1

That's when i'm using my Les Paul and my Laney amp.

Pag nagkapera na i'm planning to get din an analog EQ, maybe a 7-band. Cause I'm also an EQ guy. :D

I love how you can fatten up your guitar tone..especially on cleans..

Nice thread! Pwede na sigurong i-merge yung tips and EQ guide na thread dito.

As for my EQ setting, since 2-Channels. Channel 1 goes to the FX loop of the POD and Channel 2 goes after the POD, before the Powered Speaker. Channel 2 is mostly for 'on-the-fly' tweak as per different venues and rooms.

All frequencies not entirely passed by the guitar tone is on -12dB, especially on 20-40Hz on bass and 10-16kHz on high frequencies to not color the sound on subtle situations on live setting.

My favorite EQ setting is about 6dB boost on low-mid, mid, and high-mid Frequency for that punchy tone and slight presence especially on leads.

All flat except for 3 bands on the left (not the leftmost). Left to middle sliders resemble a stair / boosted low mids. Volume slider up by half step.
Sold the EQ and just went for a mid boost pedal (custom by Kalikot Audio).  :)

Danelectro Fish and Chip user here.

Ano pa ba ang budget EQ na maayos at tahimik?

Based on some reviews mas tahimik siya sa GE7. Im an EQ user too but I had to sell my mine before  (MXR 10 band).

Apir, we have the same EQ pedal! Definitely my most used pedal (engaged pretty much all the time)

Although di ko pa natry yung ganyang setting

V-shaped din ako usually. With les paul, I kind of crank the last two sliders up. With my RG I roll back a little bit!

Usually naman nagiging maingay lang ang buong chain kung too much ang gain ng dirt.

YEah. Love it as well. Can't do without it. Laging naka on. I cant even justify buying a 10 Band MXR EQ. That I think is too much. 6 bands are fine. And 18db of boost and cut are extremely usefull.

+100000

parang yung old school na DOD FX40B.

+/- 18dB rin and lahat ng 6 frequencies ng MXR 6 band EQ are present sa DODFX40B with an added 6400Hz or 6.4K.

the DODFX40B was the reason I let go of my GE-7 back then, pero binenta ko rin yung DODFX40B kase hindi ko trip yung switch ng DOD. Parang wala akong tinatapakan! LOL!

Kung kaya palitan ng 3PDT switch yung DODFX40B, I'll get another one in the future. If not, MXR 6 Band na lang kukunin ko for my smaller pedalboard.

wala ba tone suck yung DOD EQ? First buyer here. O kaya DOD brand.

Yung GE-7 ko was yung old ACA version.

The FX40B in a Hardwire case then parang MXR na may LED yung sliders = a total win!

I'll check with mahavishnu if he already tried modding a DOD pedal and using a 3PDT. If it's possible, baka mapabili ulit ako ng FX40B. LOL!

I agree. It costs almost twice as much.
