This is the final part of the story.
I wasn’t satisfied with the sound I’m getting from the Triple Wreck when I'm using my Strat. So, I talked to my wife again…
Me: I think my current pedalboard needs a guitar with humbuckers.
Wife: Oh yeah?
Me: Oo eh. Kasi hindi kayang palabasin ng Strat yung true potential nung isang pedal ko na maganda.
Wife: So, what’s your plan?
Me: I’d file a loan and get either a Gibson SG or Gibson Les Paul.
Wife: Les Paul?!!!! Di ba yun ang pinakamabangis na gitara?!!! Ang mahal nun ah!!!
Me: Well, pag Les Paul ang kukunin ko, second hand lang ang afford ko. Pero pag SG, baka kayanin ko kahit brand new. Ask ko muna yung mga importers from Philmusic.
Wife: Okay, think about it.
Me: Ay lab yooooooooo!!!
On April 2, 2012, I posted a thread here on GC to consult our experts about my dilemma. Which guitar should I buy, USED Les Paul or BRAND NEW SG?
http://talk.philmusic.com/index.php?topic=262338.msg3579504#msg3579504I seriously considered every suggestion I received from all the people who commented on that thread. One day, “He Who Must Not Be Mentioned” sent me a PM. He said, if I want to, he would sell his Les Paul to me for PXX,XXX. He described the guitar. I was like, “Dang!!! Sounds good!”. I asked for some photos.
“He Who Must Not Be Mentioned” emailed the photos to me and I fell in love with the guitar right away… $#&@^*na, man!!! Ang ganda!!! Now, the only question is the tone… Is it as good as advertised?
Of course, I filed a loan again. After 5 days, the money is in my bank account already so I went to “He Who Must Not Be Mentioned’s” place immediately.
When I held the guitar, the first thing I noticed was it is not heavy at all (chambered body)! On my first strum, I really felt the vibrations all over the guitar. Very resonant. Darn… I’m not good at describing a guitar’s tone. But in short, this guitar’s tone is what I was looking for!!!
Here it is…
No pickguard.
With pickguard.
Lastly, family photos (forgot to include the ZT Club)…
I have declared in another thread that GAS is over for me. However, something happened. I was in Yupangco main showroom yesterday to buy a Roland keyboard for my wife and daughter. While the friendly staff at Yupangco was preparing the receipt for the keyboard, I saw this “blonde” tube amp. It is a Fender Super Sonic 22 Blonde!!!! I tested it. I got hooked. From mild overdrive to high gain territory, this baby could do it. Holy guacamole! I don’t even wanna talk about it. LAWL!!!
I guess there really is no cure for GAS.
I want to thank all those who read this thread. I hope you guys learned a thing or two from my experiences.
THE END.
PS: If you know me personally and you know my wife also, please tell her I love her so much and thanks for understanding my GAS attacks.
