Guitars - TOO MUCH
Amps - WAAAY TOO MUCH

Lol.. but seriously... the kickass amps cost more than guitars. You can get good guitars for under USD2000, but rarely wll you find a good amp for below USD1000.. and you have to have at least 2 .. one for clean one for overdrive... hahahaha ... JK.

But i have more amps than guitars because you only really need 2 maybe 3 types of guitars (1 les paul, 1 strat, 1 hollowbody) but youll need alot more amps. (1 High gain - mesa , 1 rock - marshal, 1 blues - fender, 1 Jazz - JC120, 1 Pang cover band - Pod type, and each type of amp has its sub class. ex blues fender - tweed and blackface)

Effects? What are those? Wah and delay... if you have a killer amp no need for stomp boxes.

30% - Guitar
30% - Amp
32% - Business Tax
12% - VAT
8%   - Local Government Tax
5%   - Doc. Stamps Tax
3%   - Payoff to Michael Corleone
--------
100%

At least that is what my accountant tells me. That's why he is driving a better car than I am.

Seriously, if I had only to buy once in my life a guitar+amp combo, it would 30% guitar and 70% amp. For my taste, a good amp can go along way. Even though I am old, I am "new school" when it comes amps.

If I were to do the scenario today, I would by the Fender '72 Telecaster Custom at $700 and the Line 6 Vetta II Combo Amp at $1,700. The amp will have all the effects I need.
