Tube and solid state preamps part 2
« on: July 21, 2009, 08:08:21 PM »
Here is a song I recorded using two classical guitars. Both guitars were recorded using the same microphones: Neumann u89 for the neck and Royer R122 active ribbon for the bridge. The preamps are different though: Guitar 1 (Ramirez plays the main melody - guitar on the R side) used a solid state pre ( pair of UA solo 110)  and Guitar 2 ( Rozas plays the pinch harmonics - guitar on L side) used a tube mic pre ( pair of Avalon 737). Hear any difference??
