I know we all have bad experiences sa mga musical stores pero di naman lahat. May mga store din na gusto nating balik balikan kasi friendly mga associates nila at maganda ang store. Lagay lang ng name ng associate store and branch baka sakaling mabasa ng may-ari at I promote cya hehe :-D.

So far, ok experience ko sa JB megamall.

JB Trinoma staff was really friendly and most specially the store manager. There were times the manager chatted with us and gave us tips and tricks he used during his younger years. Hanggang ngayon ginagamit ko parin yung tip nya regarding sa strap locking using picks/old picks. Mainam din dun pag tinanong yung staff, they give proper responses unlike dun sa branch sa North Edsa na may times na parang di pinag iisipan ang sagot (peyborit nung ibang staff yung linyang "wala eh" kahit meron :-D). Accomodating naman din yung manager/in charge dun sa JB north edsa. Yung Audiophile sa north Edsa ayos din yung peeps. Di man kami laging dumadaan dun but everytime naman na dumaan kami at nagtanong they give us proper answers, responses and suggestions. Last year nung bumili ako ng guitar sa kanila they gave me several suggestions based on what I wanted. Very accomodating people :)

yup I would also commend the Audiophile SM North EDSA staff especially Jerold. they are very accommodating. I have my guitars set up at that place always as a means of saying thanks for the help and advice they have been giving me. recently I got a Peavey Vypyr from the store, but since they misplaced the box, they had a new unit delivered in a couple of days and they contacted me ASAP once it hit the store. great job!

yup I would also commend the Audiophile SM North EDSA staff especially Jerold. they are very accommodating. I have my guitars set up at that place always as a means of saying thanks for the help and advice they have been giving me. recently I got a Peavey Vypyr from the store, but since they misplaced the box, they had a new unit delivered in a couple of days and they contacted me ASAP once it hit the store. great job!

Yung sa mga Lyric stores, mabait lagi. :) best service out of all the local ones.. Usually MOA, Eastwood, or Trinoma nadadaanan ko.

Hmm... wala naman nakalagay na local right? :-D Allow me to share this anyway so that local stores can learn and improve.
My favorite by far is Ishibashi Shibuya branch. When you buy a guitar, they will change the strings to a new set of D'Addarios (your choice of gauge), setup the guitar, clean/condition the fretboard, clean all electrical contacts, and polish the body. They even know that if you're taking the guitar on a plane, they will detune it to prevent neck issues (strings contract in cold cabin temp). They take their time to do this even if the store is full of customers. Then all new guitar purchases come with free tuner (Greco), fretboard cleaner, guitar polish, and a basic black Ernie Ball strap. The Japanese attention to detail is really remarkable. I'll gladly pay the premium to get this kind of service.
I hope that all local stores follow this model. I can live without the freebies... its the service and knowledge that counts. Seeing that all their staff are trained technicians, and that you are treated properly (hindi nagmamadali sa asikaso) even if the store is full gives the customer confidence to buy.
Sa local, I like Audiophile Eaton branch. Because its an isolated (not much foot traffic) branch, I got to test any guitar I wanted without being rushed.

agree with this.. not just the shibuya branch but i guess every music store i've been to (shimamura, ishibashi, etc). i'd frequent the music stores in shinjuku, shibuya and ochanomizu when i was there.

Yamaha Main Showroom, Buendia, Makati. Everybody is accommodating as you enter the door. Even the officers and the Yupangcos mostly.

share ko lang, kanina habang nagtitingin ako sa Lyric Harrizon Plaza, may pumasok na customer may tinatanong na item, na mukhang walang stock doon sa store. then sabi nung tindero "sir try nyo baka meron sa kabila, sa JB Music". hehe ngayon lang ako naka-encounter ng ganun, nagre-recommend sa kalaban na music store :-D

May habit ako na pag nagpupunta ng mall, hindi pwedeng hindi ako bumisita sa mga music stores like Lyric, JB Music, Lazer, Audiophile, Music Source, In Tune and mga iba pa.
So far, ang pinaka gusto kong puntahan is yung Lyric stores, kahit anong branch nila ok eh, walang nagmamarunong di tulad sa ibang music stores lalo na pag andun yung Manager and self proclaimed LUTHIER. Kung ano anong sinasabe hahahaha! :D

Audiophile sa Robinson's Pioneer. Si sir Lito ay accomodating, nag susuggest pa siya ng mga products na subok na niya. Gaya nung pag pili ko sa guitar ko, Dalawa sa Ibanez S yung pinagpipilian ko, napansin niya sa isa na hindi masyado komportable hawakan yung neck ng isa though pareho lang ng model ng neck, ayun mas nabili ko yung mas maganda (at mas mura). Saka sa tuner na sinuggest niya, Korg, instead dun sa mga mas mahal na tuner ng Ibanez kasi sabi niya sapalaran daw kasi di pa subok.

RJ music in Glorietta and Festival Mall Alabang have friendly staff nung pinagawa ko un tail piece ng Takamine ko pina test nila sakin un ibang guitars nila while waiting...makwento din...willing to share kung kelan sila mag sasale they'll even ask for your number para mabigyan ka ng heads up

Lazer sm taytay very accomodating yung isa nilang staff yung matangkad na naka mohawk na buhok nag test ako nung mga joyo pedals the guy even insist me on trying more pedals kahit na sinabi kong di ako bibile at wala pa kong pera.. :)

Oo mismo yan si Jake. And not to mention the store manager there( I keep forgetting his name!! :eek:)is very nice too. I passed by a few weeks ago and i asked if they had rubber feet for amplifiers. Wala daw sila stock nun.
But as i was about to leave he stopped me and he remembered that he had a few old pieces in his drawer and he just gave it to me for free. :-o
Suki ako sa AP festival alabang especially a few years ago when i was constantly buying stuff. Si Mon dati ang lagi ko kausap although ngayon lumipat na sya ng branch eh.

Wala nga sila masyadong amp parts ngayon. Ubusan din yung amp corners nila eh.
Si Mon ba yung medyo long hair na malaking tao? Parang siya yung humarap dati kay Cayle nung bumili siya ng Ibanez niya. 2007 ata yun. Binibigyan talaga siya ng tips na wag daw muna kumuha ng naka double locking bridge kung baguhan pa lang sa ganun kasi for sure mahihirapan daw, etc.. Kaya RG321 kinuha ni Cayle. Galing din ng service nun. :-)

okay din sila sa Lazer!The guys there let me try out their Goldea AT-30( a really good sounding MIC 30 watt Tube amp) even though i said i wasn't sure that i was gonna buy it since i had another option.

any music store dito sa japan ay ganito. bago nila ibigay yung gitara sa iyo ay itotono muna ng staff nila ng maayos.
kala mo nga sila ang bibili ng gitara kasi ang tagal din nila ayusin muna yung gitara bago nila ibagay sa iyo. :-D

same tyo dito s gawain n toh sir..khit halos wla n oras, bisyo ko n ang punthan lht ng music store everytime n pupunta ako s mga malls. s ngyn, id like to commend Audiophile, kht sn branch ako mgpunta accomodating cla lht (cguro ntatapat lng ako s mbabait) kc mdmi cla minsan eh,,ska mura ang mga pick ups nila SD at dimarzio. :)

When I was starting with electric guitars, si June from JB Music Southmall ang naging suking salesman ko.
Transparent, honest and may genuine concern sa mga buyers. Inaalam nya talaga ang kelangan mo regardless of what level of playing and experience ka sa guitar. Meron kasi iba na ang taas ng tingin sa sarili lalo na kung halata sa buyer na baguhan lang o kaya hindi naman sure buyer at nagwiwindow shopping lang which is bad para sakin kasi hindi fair treatment. Bukod sa naexperience ko to personally, ngayon na mas may alam na ko about the guitars I still notice this na naeexperience naman ng iba na nakakasabay ko sa isang music store.
Kaso nawala na lang sya bigla dun tapos ang pumalit yung guy named Angelo. ayos din kausap and nagbibigay din ng tips about their products. Kung feeling nya hindi best option yung binebenta nila ituturo ka nya sa iba kahit competitor pa yung meron nung product
Kaso wala na din sya dun sa JB music and honestly I'm pretty disappointed with the service of the guys in JB music Southmall ngayon. Nagtanong ako about their amps and takamine guitars and bukod sa hindi ganun kagaling product knowledge nila may attitude sila na ipromote yung product lang nila which I understand but dont personally prefer kasi mas gusto ko yung "treating customers fairly"
So when I was about to buy an acoustic guitar I was contemplating between a Takamine and an Ibanez AW but ended up buying the Ibanez because of the service I got from Carlo of Audiophile MOA. Very professional and accomodating. Magaan kausap and magalang. He asked what I was looking for in an acoustic guitar and he looked for the model closest to what I wanted and went through the details with me. Sa JB Music MOA and Southmall I felt na sobrang pushy nila for me to buy their product without considering the specifics of what I was looking for.
Napahaba yung kwento ko but bottom line is, I personally prefer staff who provide personalized service to their customers. Medyo mahirap kasi I noticed na depende sa tao to and hindi sya shared value ng isang music company - meaning I cant expect the same level of service I had from Audiophile MOA if I went to another branch of Audiophile for example
