May DW 5000 pedal ba na FAKE?

US made dws are fully custom. they only make drums on a per order basis that's why they are expensive.

dw and pdp drums from mexico are mass produced items. di ka pwede pumili ng configuration at finish kaya mas mura. mas pangit din yung wood compared sa custom dws.

the same mass produced dw and pdp drums are now also being made in taiwan probably by KHS - the same guys who make mapex but im only guessing based on the quality i've seen from lyric.

Orig yan sir. Bought mine from the US ganyan na ganyan yung pati yung box. Yung 9000 series na hardware lang yung gawa sa us - at least based sa 2008 DW catalog. Why are you doubting the authenticity of your pedal by the way dahil taiwan made?

I'd like to disagree. I have a DW9000 pedal, after reading this thread i checked it out. I had it bought in the US Feb 2007. It was already made in Taiwan. So probably it was made 2006 in taiwan.

so that 2008 catalog is outdated (or DW lied). Im wondering what stuff is still made in the US aside from the custom drums because even their top of the line, flagship hardwares are now manufactured in Taiwan.

Maybe someone can contact DW regarding this.

simple: from the business aspect of things, every company which could've outsourced something somewhere have done so by this time already. most of the stuff we have (and even services first-world countries utilize) are made in somewhere in asia.

this includes drum companies btw.

The pic below shows 9000 series pedals and hihat stands being assembled in DWs factory in Ca. It's also stated in the catalog that "DW parts are still machined at the factory metal shop in Oxnard, Ca.".
MY guess is yung raw materials gawa sa taiwan tapos me konting tweaking na ginagawa sa DW factory hence the statement "DW parts are still machined at the factory"
At any rate, ayos DW hardware kahit san pa gawa yan.

kung gusto nyo makasigurado na gawa sa US yung pedal nyo, tingnan nyo lang kung may USA na naka emboss sa baba ng 5000 sa footboard (see pic of my pedal on page 1). its as simple as that. kung walang tatak na USA, hindi gawa sa USA.

if i also recall correctly, dw 5000 lang talaga ang pedal na ginawa sa US. yung 4000 series na lumabas na lower version ng 5000 e gawa sa mexico yun kaya logical lang na lahat ng pedal after 4000 e gawa na sa ibang bansa since 2001 pa ata (dito ko napansin na nawala na yung USA sa footboard).

i dont think that pedals made in any other country is an issue for dw. the taiwan pedals are even better than my us made pedals. the quality is still very good and there are no "issues" happening like those from tama when they moved manufacturing away from japan. i believe we dont need to be concerned about where its made.

agree, i dont hav any issues with my pedal. un lang, i just thought it was still made in US kasi they're the top of the line pedals.
i also think they are now machined and made totally in taiwan.

at any rate DW will not put its logo on a product that doesn't pass their standards.
