Skarlet album finally out!

It's called Skarlet: The Powder Room Stories.

Skarlet's funny... she's been announcing at our gigs that her album's about to come out... since August!

Natatawa na lang ako noon tuwing binabanggit niya onstage na, "lalabas na po this month ang album ko". Sabi ko nga sa kanya wag na niyang banggitin ng banggitin dahil nauudlot, pero hala sige pa rin.

So it comes as quite a relief to FINALLY have it out. =)

We received advanced copies last night at out regular (Thursday) Chakik's gig.

Listened to it both at the gig and when i got home.

Sounds good. =)

Not as interesting as her departure from Put3ska I bet ... but that's all water under the musical bridge by now :-)  "Skarlet as jazz singer" is the third phase of her much reinvented career and its interesting to see where this goes.

Ewan ko lang sa Mag:Net. Pero malamang merong mga kopya ang mga mainstream record stores kagaya ng Tower Records at Odyssey.

During her Put3ska days I believe there were aleady signs that she's gonna venture into jazz. Her voice is sometimes reminicent of Madame Ella Fitzgerald.

Minsan nga sobrang Ella na yung mga linya niya sa scat, eh. Pero yon talaga main influence niya.

and all those times i thought it was Gwen Stefani... hehehehe...

Myra Ruaro is a good performer and singer too ... her interviews leave me hyperventillating, she has too much energy! haha

uy aya, kawal toh! ang galeng, may album na si skarlet. sabihin mo aralin nya yung "The Very Thought of You" (Billie Holiday). Bagay sa timpla nya yung song!
