Can you really blame a band for sounding like another band kung yung bandang yun naman talaga ang main or isa sa mga main influences nila? Example Chicosci tunog foreign (guys, that was just an example, I honestly just want to know what you think. lets not make this into another chicosci thread or a debate against foreign sounding bands thread There are plenty of those here na) Thank you!

In Addition:

Does it make it right if they admit na yun nga habol nilang tunog?

Similarly, Does it make them the bad guy if they deny it? (Example, Orange and Lemons (Chandelier by The Care) and Cueshe (that Silverchair song, i forget the name)

Bands will always carry their influences. and if it's a bit too much, that's when the listener (and maybe copyright laws) will react. How they deal with it, what their original intentions are, and how they react if the negative attention happens is the key to seeing what it was really all about.

Personally, as long as they don't plagiarize, then the whole idea is up to interpretation by each and every person. Cover bands, joke bands and tribute bands are usually exempt from all this.

I know sampling still needs permission to the recording label & the
artist. sa mga banda bihira ito (sampling). As a listener ang alam
kong paggamit ng sampling is... sa isang part lang nung song yung
gagamitin as "sample".. (let say "every breath you take" ni sting yung
sample (intro part)) yun lang dapat ang gagamitin... then may sarili
pa ring tono yung song... ginagamit lang yung sample as fill in part.

Like, Nirvana sounds a lot like The Posies, just grittier. The lyrics are different, though. Nirvana is a legend. The Posies isn't.

Another is White Zombie, sounding a lot like The Melvins. Ginaya yata ni Rob Zombie yung boses niya kay Buzz Osbourne e. But I think White Zombie's easier to listen to.

sa pinoy na banda na sounds alike ... ika nga sa nu rock awards 09..ganda ng sinulat ni francis brew... most of it "philippine music" borrowed it from the west.. da influence of the west weighs heavily on our culture artistically.. but the form is only secondarily  to the essence ,"the heart ".
kung ang pinoy na banda sounds alike sa foreign n songs at least give them a chance na pakinggan sila  dahil may essence ang mga kanta nila .. sample lang ng pinakikinggan namin.. the jerks .. francis m.. the wuds... mga kanta nila talagang may sounds alike pero ang titindi ng mensahe kaya sarap pakinggan at maganda i apply ang kanta nila sa buhay natin...sounds alike but it really moves you  apir.
