If you could score a copy of the Genesis triple CD collection that was released last year, you'll be able to sample one of the greatest progressive groups ever assembled.  You'll hear the different phases of the group beginning with the pop stuff from the 80's and 90's working your way back to the brilliance of Peter Gabriel's vocals and gymnastic drumwork from Phil Collins.  I especially like this collection because of the middle Phil Collins vocal years with Misunderstanding, Turn It On Again, and Abacab among others.  The real gems here though for me are the songs from the Peter Gabriel years.  The excerpts from The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway, Watcher of The Skies, and Firth of Fifth (you'll recognize the last two songs if you've seen Transatlantic cover them in a Genesis medley) alone are worth picking up for to listen to.
