modern or old school post hardcore? is it necessary to explore the roots? sa pagkakaintindi ko kasi, yung mga modern, parang me pagka metal core na yung tunog. yung mga traditional naman parang punk na punk. sakin lang to ah.

Yup yung mga post-hardcore bands po ngayon may pagka metalcore na ang sound e.g. Miss May I, Blessthefall, etc. Pero kung ako tatanungin mas feel ko yung essence ng post-hardcore sa mga luma like earlier material of The Used and Saosin.

Personally I don't think may karapatan angkinin ng mga kids ang term na "hardcore" for anything kung wala silang context sa punk subculture at sa community. Hardcore punk has more to do with you and your relationship with punk than it does with you being musicians. Music will always come second. It doesn't have to and I wish it didn't but that's just how it is.

Pag sinabing "lumang" post-hardcore, that usually means the late 80s/mid-90s. Very distinct sila. Mas nakuha ng Saosin ang tunog na yun.
