Bakit?

Wala talagang maaasahang kita or 'suporta' galing sa nakararami.

Sana maging lesson to sa mga aspiring artists/musicians who want to make it here. Papasok na kasi dito yung compromise vs. 'musical integrity.' You don't want to compromise your sound and have artistic freedom? Produce it yourself. Have another job that can feed you and finance your artistic freedom.

no brod, she could've migrate before. she's migrating because she's fed up.

fed up with what? coz she doesnt get any support? what? shes too good for our local music industry now?

kung gusto nyang maging Pilipino, she has to be one first. coz no one is too good for Filipinos.

if she's migrating, thats because she doesnt want to be in the Philippines. period.

lets not make an excuse for her, na shes leaving because she isnt being 'supported' by the industry. that like saying 'ako ang magaling na dapat nyong sinusuportahan, kung sino-sinong pinasisikat nyong corny at ndi naman tlga magaling'.

thats EGO.

I've heard that Cynthia would spend P200,000-300,000 to produce her albums with no incremental revenues.  She does her music because she loves it.  But at one point, when your car loses gas and you're in the middle of nowhere, the only way to go is find greener pasture to cultivate your craft.

Very brave for an artist if you ask me.  Because even the talented folks in the US also resorted to image gimmicks to sell.

Or, in her own words: “I am moving away because I refuse to live my life like a frog in a well!”

With this said, i think she's trying out other "ponds" where she can bask, eat and live her life (musical or not) to find a new sense of

satisfaction or explore and experience new things.

You're probably right.

I was just saying what the yahoo article/first post implied as to why she was leaving. She said she doesn't want to live her like "like a frog in a well." She likely meant that she's tired of her options here.

now playing: Yano - Paalam Sampaguita

at sana kahit farewell gig man lang.

^she does have a couple of farewell gigs lined up. i'm watching but....

this whole "she is leaving as a [strawberry] you to the Filipinos who never noticed her" is getting old pretty quick, and now looks like something "musicians" came up with so they can milk it for their own benefit.

i'm understanding where grasyaps is coming from, and i'm sort of agreeing.

"So if you do want to know the real reason behind all of this, we can personally ask her by going to her last few gigs (see schedule below). Cynthia Alexander embarks on a “Send-Off Series” with five separate performances to say goodbye to friends and fans before she leaves the Philippines."
