maraming maganda ang mahavishnu orchestra. birds of fire, meeting of the spirits, sister andrea... basta marami! halos lahat ng kanta nila malupet!

okay rin ang fantomas... kahit may vocals yung iba nilang kanta, madalas rin vocal fx lang ginagawa ni mike patton e. okay yung mga galing sa director's cut tsaka delirium cordia.

ano pa kaya...

testament - hammer of the gods
death - voice of the soul
meshuggah - obsidian

classic tv theme songs for me...theyre quick and catchy and they always try to incite excitement.i respect em tv theme writers (what theyre doin in 15 to 30 secs can be nerve wracking even for accomplished musos).
anyhoo my faves are the theme from:
X files
buffy
magnum p.i.
twilight zone
house (written by charlie clouser of nine inch nails)
knight rider (fave song sampled by hip hoppers)
charlies angels
hill street blues
the equalizer (written by stewart copeland of the police)
...to name a few.
and yeh i think the movie themes of "the exorcist" and "the omen" can still creep anyone out, lol.
happy halloween yall

youre right m8 its "teardrop" by massive attack with liz frazier of the cocteau twins hence technically its not an instrumental.i stand corrected, what i have in mind is the theme from
"numb3rs".heres some trivia tho regarding the house theme
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/House_(TV_series)#Theme_music
btw, the best (and only) instrumental album i bought this year is "the mixed up " by the beastie boys.its the ultimate  contemporary stoner album, with splashes of dub, reggae, soul, hip hop,60's theme music, etc

cool progressive rock is alive & well indeed.if u dig prog check out the breakout band "mute math" as well as one of england's finest "secret machines".these young uns got the vibe of 70's king crimson and energy of the clash circa '77-78.
cheers
