Nakuha nila ang idea na Chico Science sa 1st album ng Brazilian band na "Soulfly" at may mensahe si Max Cavalera na nagpapasalamat sya kay "Chico Science" at nilagay pa nila dito ang quote nya. So may sense na ba? so malamang nung mga panahon na yun ay nainspire sila sa Soulfly, may album sila ng Soulfly at gusto nila bumuo ng banda na katunog ang Soulfly, at dapat nakadreads din sila parang Soufly pero teka...san tayo kukuha ng pangalan?...BINGO! Chico Science! di naman nila mahahalata eh...

Chico Science (Francisco de Assis França) (March 13, 1966 - February 2, 1997) was a Brazilian singer and composer and one of the founders of the Mangue Beat cultural movement. He became the lead singer and major creative driving force of the groundbreaking Mangue Bit band called Chico Science & Nação Zumbi (CSNZ).

Proof of what? I remember them (Chicosci) explaining all of this in interviews when they first changed their name. I also remember them explaining where they got the name from- Jamir of Slapshock suggesting the (aweful) "Mad Scientist" and them seeing the aforementioned Soulfly sleeve.
It's just a band name. Parang naka-expose' ka ah.
Your screwed up reasoning aside, musically, my take on this is :
Since Method of Breathing, you could see the musical tension developing- amid all the heavy stuff, Glass is Broken and Paris were CLEARLY the best songs on the album because of sheer songwriting and arrangement genius. Like the songs or not, whether they performed them perfectly or not- the songwriting came through.
The most unsuccessful album thus far- Icarus, though bogged down by horrid production value, again highlighted their strength but in only a handful of songs. "Theme...Fire" and the last single (forgot the title, "This moment is mine alone" chorus) were again brilliant lyrically, melodically and rhythmically (Joel has always been the man). If you listen to Icarus, the heavy songs were actually quite tired already; sounding more and more derived from their faves at the time (methinks Glassjaw & DEP).
Now the new album- just think of it as streamlined and stripped-down to the core of what made "Paris" song of the year, "Glass is Broken" their best song ever and "Theme...Fire" and the last Icarus single tragic marketing and promotional failures despite being brilliant. (Now they have the look and image to support their new songs- I don't agree with it but it works.)
"Sweet Maria" and "7 Black Roses" are extremely well-written. Admit it. And if you don't, I don't know what the heck kind of music fan you are. Kahit hindi mo pa 'yan "trip" or malayo sa favorite genre mo, if you don't at least recognize good songwriting, you can't begin to criticize other artists for their chosen direction.
IMO, even the most God-hating metal-head, if a true fan of music at the core, SHOULD at least respect the likes of John Lennon, for instance. (It's called an analogy, ok, Dying4Death?)
Oh wait, have you actually listened to the new album of Chicosci? Baka naman diss ka ng diss diyan di mo pa pala napapakinggan. But wait, baka matunaw ka; masyado kang macho para sa mga bandang ganito diba?
