if you want a les paul that is less muddy (less damped low registers), get one with a maple cap. imho, an all mahogany lp sounds darker than those w/caps. as for the mids...mahogany guitars can handle that. my mahogany guitars, at least for my taste/ears, have crunchy and well defined mids. :-) a disclaimer though, all my lps are copies. hehe.

so ok siya sa crunchy rhythm?? and lead sounds?? :?

onting dagdag lang ng overdrive (depende sa amp i guess), it would be crunchy enough. ayos na ayos sa blues at alternative. distortion, heavy rhythm. pang metal, heavy metal, etc.

sa lead, just ask jimmy page, slash, zakk wylde, at gary moore!

Pasali po kahit mumurahin lang. :)   My Epiphone Les Paul Special II adorned with a pickguard somehow similar to Gibson LP Specials.

This might be the cheapest LP posted, but I'm sure damn proud of it's outcome...and of course it's sound! :D
