Ei! ano ang pinakaunang album nyo at when nyo ito nakuha? regardless kung binili or binigay or na obtain sa alin mang pamamaraan? Hehe
Ako my first one is a casette copy of Gun's And Roses' Appetite for Destruction.. I bought it to my classmate way back in my first year in (1993 i think) highschool. I only paid for it for 20 pesos.. a few weeks later nalaman ko na he stole it lang pala kaya mura. hehe.. but the casette is still working up to this date.

mine was Steve Vai's Fire Garden & Cacophony's Speed Metal Symphony. I bought it when I was yet in highschool, that's way back '96(I think) :roll: . At that time i'm into shred music, and those album blew me away! :shock: haha, i could recall my highschool days...
and yeah it's still screaming! i'm gonna play it right now, thanks for reminding! :roll: :lol:

I bought THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND, LIVE AT FILLMORE EAST double album way back 1977 at the Schipol Airport in Amsterdam, Netherlands but I'm not sure if it's the very first album I own. :?
I remember buying vinyl records in Harrison Plaza for P18 only and really cheap 2nd hand LPs (around P9) in Quiapo during the 70s and 80s. I still have most of them but they are worn out already. :cry:

first one i ever bought: a bootleg compilation of Michael Jackson songs back in 1989. i was 11.
someone gave me a mini-record of the Voltes V theme song when i was 9. nung panahong yun, inangkin ko yung soundtrack Star Wars Episode 4, which my dad bought back in the US in the late 70's. ayos pa yata yung tape na yun hanggang ngayon...

I bought my first album around 1995 or 1996 when I was back there and it was Rage Against the Machine's Evil Empire. That's what made me pick up my guitar and approach :D it differently.

mine is a slayer record divine intervention back in 1994 (i was 5 or 6)... that was my first album ever, and from there i was spellbound by the metal music's guitar riffs and solos, the next day i asked my dad if i can have his tokai strat (not the best in the world.. but i learned alot from it).

The first album I ever bought was Miachal Jackson's Bad iN 1987. I was in third grade and was a big fan of Michael's. If I'm not mistaken, I bought the album for about 50 pesos. If not less. I rocked that cassete tape for years until rock found me in 1990. I was in fifth grade. I heard Sweet Child O' Mine on NU107, and upon hearing the intro, I was hooked. I bought Guns N' Roses' Appettite for Destruction. That bosted my love affair with music. I learned to play guitar soonafter, and I guess I never stopped. I remember playing guitar with a grade school band, and during our fair, I wanted to dress up like CC deVille, complete with the trenchcoat and cowboy hat. I wanted to dress up like Slash, but I really loked stupid wearing tight leather pants cause I was a fat kid(still am making me a fat man,hehehehe). I'm still playing guitar now, but without the dreams of bighair and tight pants. HEHEHE

revolver ng beatles. 1992, around the time na nagka beatles exhibit sa megamall for the beatles's 40th anniversary.
it was in cassette. i think i bought it with my parents money, sa odyssey sa ground floor ng megamall bldg A (which is still there even now). P90 pa lang yung mga cassette noon... at wala pa kaming cd player, at kahit meron, parang sobrang mahal pang bumili.

not bad for a first owned album, huh? :wink: i think revolver is the best album from those guys.

I agree! That is a great album! Another Fav of mine is Rubber Soul (which I think is Part1, and Revolver is Part2) Abbey Road is great too!

the first album i bought from my xmas savings was queen's greatest hits album. that was 1982 and it cost me like 20 pesos yata...brand new pa yun ha? but the very first single i bought was the 45rpm record of the voltes five theme in raon, all for 9 pesos only...so u could just guess my age :roll: . i really miss the heydays of vinyl, man... :?

the first album i ever owned was the soundtrack to Sylvester Stallone's "Over the Top" movie. i got the album in 1986 if i'm not mistaken; i was 5 years old then. good album overall, andun yung "Winner Takes It All" by Sammy Hagar and "Meet Me Halfway" by Kenny Loggins, two staples of true blue 80s music :)

Atsaka yung mga Underground na casette sa tandem, harrisson, khubmella featuring the Jerks, The Wuds, Etc. Memories yun..

Black Sabbath Vol 4 - Loved Tony Iommi's guitar licks. It had that really thick sound. I was in 2nd year high school back in '74 and managed to save up my baon. Just had to have this album.

Tapos kinumpleto ko na yung GNR album, tapes lang ha. Tapos nun mabuhay ang Glam rock sa tape collection ko, skid row, harem scarem, nelson, poison, warrant, saigon kick. First heavy na tape ko metallica black album tapos kinumpleto ko album nila and the rest is history kasi iPod na uso ngayon at dinadownload na lang mga album. :-D

I started out just like everyone else, a radio-gaga...
heard some cool but different stuff, but most noticeably cool music called 'new wave'... hehehe. But still heard it much from radio.
NU na ata nuon. When they mostly played classic rock & modern new wave stuff.
Since I was a thrasher back then, Thrashin' the movie (Challenge to Win), I really don't get why the movie board change the titles, hindi naman tayo mga indio. Anyway, Thrashin' was the big deal back then for us.
The music there were WOW!!! Thrash-Rock. Then we just came to know, that was punk na pala. Hanep ang mga songs.
Pwede pala sa guitars yun na ganun kabilis sabay ng drums (I thought).
Of course, high-school estudyante pa ako nun, wala pa gaanong breads pambili ng mga album tapes. So I decided to record it from my loud tv (playing the movie on betamax), directly onto the mic hole of my cassette recorder.. Instant soundtrack album na. eheheh.
Since recording from radio was a bit of a habit before it. Kaya, that's the best way I can think of to have the movie's songs on tape.
So I listened & proudly doing chika about it sa school, when my classmate showed & said wala yan sa tape na 'toh, Metallica - And Justice for All.... Pinakinggan namin, I was totally blown away. That was trully heavy. I liked it immediately.
So, I borrowed the Metallica-And Justice... tape, play sa bahay, sound-tripped to it loudly enough to annoy my mom. ehehhe.
Until, nasagad ang pag-play sa player ko, the cassette tape-deck player ate parts of the intro to the song One.
Yaiks, ano sasabihin ko sa may-ari.!!! :-( :?
I still managed not to turn up the owner's temper, pero he was like 'bayaran mo yan tol'.. hehehe. so ok, no choice, may ipong pera, konti nga lang, binili ko ng bago para dun sa classmate ko. Then the damaged one left with me.
Pinag-tiyagaan ko na din yun.
And that was the start, Metallica - And Justice For All..., na nasundan ng Kill..., Ride..., etc. & other bands na.
Haba ng story, sorry... wala akong kausap e. ehehehe. Cheers!!! Inom tayo, tubig. hehehe.
