hi and thumbs up for this thread! happy drum tuning everyone!! :-)
'the more you tune, the more tuning will become a skill rather than an experiment. you practice your paradiddles for hours, don't you? well, tune your drums once a month, a week, a day!' - ed hartman, from an article about drum tuning

you can use any recording device: cellphones, digicams - does not need to be highend basta hindi sabog yung tunog.

hindi mo kailangan na irecord habang nag tutune ka. tune mo yung drum muna then play it while recording. review the sound. retune the drum. play it again and record yourself. do it over and over until you are happy with sound coming from the recording.

if the drum sounds good on your recording device, it will sound exceptional live.

I'm using Evans Genera Dry on batter head and Evans Hazy 300 on bottom snare side..

tanggalin mo lhat ng screw or disassemble mo yang snare mo pre.

tune your batter higher than your reso and set your snare tension to medium tight. phat crack guaranteed!

change your heads (both batter and reso), check mo kung pantay pa yung bearing edges ng snare, tune it slowly but surely finding the sweet spot as you go along. walang panget na snare drum sa drummer na matiyagang magtono. :-D
