Ano ba meaning ng TRIAL/TEST Sale?

Dami kong nakikita nito sa Classifieds. Anu ba ibig sabihin nito? Trial meaning titingnan nya lang kung may interesado bumile? Or pag may bumile pwede shang umatras kahit may deal na? Or marketing strategy? Fill me in guys!

pwede din ngang maging strategy yun, para lang malaman kung may kakagat sa item nya. pero kung meron nga kumagat, para fair sa buyer, kailangan ibenta nya kung interested talaga yung buyer. kasi nga naman nagpost sya tapos merong iterested buyer, unethical ang dating pag bigla na lang iri-retract, tapos ipo-post ulit ng mas mataas na presyo.

pwede din sabi ni palolo_worm, since makakakuha na sya ng pera in this period, pwede nya i-retract, something like that.

kasi kung auction lang ang habol ng seller, ndi para dito yung post nya kasi nga bawal ang auction/bidding dito.

When I posted the snare I was selling weeks ago, I intend to check if anyone is interested. Yes, I am thinking of retracting BUT ONLY WHEN I DONT SEE ANY SERIOUS BUYERS. I highlighted that just incase.

But now, I think it is not as accurate as I want it to be described. Perhaps it was the lack of better term on my end. Nevertheless, my intention is to show that I am not 100% in need of selling my stuff.

It was not a strategy for me. I do not back out once I commit, infact, I never did that in my entire life. I could have sold my snare at an earlier date, but, since Buyer A assured me that he will buy it from me, I never sold it to Buyer B. As per my experience, it was those who claim that they are SERIOUS BUYER'S who are not commited. Which promted me to give away some freebies when I sold my Tama snare. So, if you dont intend to buy, do the seller a favor, dont commit to him.

By the way when I said SERIOUS BUYERS, I do not mean all of you guys. I am refering to those who opens their PM to you with "SERIOUS BUYER HERE SIR."

By the way thanks to #?R* (he prefers to be anonymous) for buying my snare.

Finally, I agree that placing "TRIAL SALE" on your advertisement, does not make complete sense at all.

Actually madaming ganyang cases. May kasalanan ako kay stick for promising to buy his shells kaso yung inaasahang check ko talbog. Labo! Pero ok lang yun (siguro) kasi we know each other naman. So guilty ako sa "reserve" term na yan.

Well going back to the "TRIAL SALE" talk eh wala namang masama dun eh. Gusto ko lang mas maintindihan ko yung term. Mas okay na yun keysa sa nagbebenta ng defective. May lumapit sakin bumile sha ng Pearl Picolo eh sira pala. Tsk tsk tsk!

hi sandy, nice topic. here's my version of it:

i tried selling an item some time last year under the thread title 'trial or testing for sale' or something like that. first, as far as i am concerned, i used that title coz i also noticed a few sellers doing the same and for the lack of a better set of words which could describe my aim at the time, i followed suit.

however, my intention was far from others. i used the term 'trial for sale' or the like purely coz i was trying to find out if there was a potential and interested buyer in Manila of my item which was with me here in uk at the time. and by finding a 'sure' buyer, I would have good reason to include it in my shipment of other goods to Manila--to save on carriage costs. thats about it. had i violated any forum rule, my attention would have been called by our reliable mods. but that wasnt the case and the sale eventually materialised with one moderator even signifying his intention to buy if in case the first person who had reserved it wont push through with the purchase.

on a personal note, though im guilty of using the term, i think 'trial for sale' is such an open set of words that its vulnerable to devious sales ploys...and possibly annoying for some. probably someone could suggest some form of rule to put things into order. in other countries' forums they play around with words such as 'testing the water' Sale. some have good intentions and some dont. but then again, this is a free world, as a consumer one has to be vigilant specially when shopping around the net. its really down to the buyer, no one is forcing anybody to buy anyway, but indeed some adverts can be too enticing. the best way around this is be vigilant and try to see through sales motives. relax, think, research, inspect, ask, take your time, decide.

easy for me to say. truth is, i learned it the hard way.

No sir, di na nagrereply sakin sa text. I decided to restore it nalang seeing na hopeless na macontact yung seller. Naparami rin gastos ko. Ito isa pa! Ung snare side head na kasama is clear coated ambassador na makapal, i had to replace it with a thinner head! bali, wrong snare wire+wrong reso head+broken lug+rusted hard to turn tension lugs =  Frustration. Kakainis, halos 1 week ko siyang di magamit dahil sa mga problems na yan.

I am not pertaining to anyone, I am just sharing my opinion on this matter. 

For me posting "test sale" is absurd. It creates a window of excuse for the seller to retract.

Though in some cases I do understand specific situations where items would be brought into the country or not.

The way I see it, simply post it for sale, if no one responds then still it becomes a "test sale" for you but no need to place test sale in your title as it only creates confusion. Works the same way anyway. 

I am thinking of bringing this up to the admins to be ruled out as a guideline to avoid further possible confusion after certain matters have been settled.
