Title: ReezaFRATzitz (EMMA Electronics)
Post by: leech on January 03, 2007, 01:05:28 PM
This is my very first review, and this is based only in my own experience with the pedal. It's almost the same size as the BBE sonic maximizer but a tad bit lighter. It's got four knobs: level, tone, bias and gain knob. The level knobs are pretty decent and is not that sensitive at all. The tone knob...hhmmm....lets say, if you turn it to "zero", it doesnt go ngongo at all... and when you "max" it to 5:00, it doesnt really go fizzy and thin (which i find useless), unlike the other OD/Dist pedals i'ved used . The bias knob, its very subtle and you really cant distinguish the diference unless you literally sit infront of the cab and tweak. If you turn it from left to right, it goes from class B to class A. it sounds like a marshall when at 7-12:00 and to a vox AC-30 from 12-5:00... tama ba? correct m if i'm wrong...hehe! Now the gain knob is my favorite!! It has a very wide range of gain. when you set it up to 8:00, clapton like blues...really warm...creamy, 10:00, AC/DC, 11-12:00 Guns n Roses, 1-2:00 lets say Iron Maiden/metallica/pantera (and the like)and 3:00 to max, NU Metal i guess because it gives you tons of gain/dist.

I can describe it as a turbo charged valveboy plugged into an all tube amp. Maybe an MT-2 could come  close BUT with out the nasal sound and has more in your face distortion. The ReezaFRATzitz really is a high gain pedal and could also be a warm and creamy OD(it would be really better if they made the pedal with two footswitches). It responds really well to picking attack, great harmonics, very versatile, it has all the crunch you could ever want, sustains really good, not that bassy and definitely has top notch mids that can handle gobs of thick distortion (as I tested it with my MIJ strat with single coils)...not trebly at all  It has true bypass, and it can run with  a 9v battery, bad thing is, you have to unscrew the bass plate and take it off... :-( you can actually emulate the valveboy and tube drivers tone with it and you really wouldnt tell the difference.

Well, as for me, i could really rank this pedal as ONE of the top 10 best OD/dist ever made. But I'm still waiting for my Damage control Solid Metal and Moollon Distortion to arrive probably this month. In this case I could really compare which ones better (for a chug chug kind of distortion). I'm really not a strat fan, I'm more of an LP person, but after using the FRAT it gave me goosebumps. This I can say is MONEY WELL SPENT. I'm really happy with the pedal and its sure is solid state. And for the metalheads out there, I think the EMMA ReezaFRATzitz is worth considering.

nice review, sir leech. Thanks! That pedal seems very flexible and I guess it would be great for a guitar player who dips into a lot of different genre. One pedal "to rule them all..."  8-)

actually si IAN (poundcake) may AC booster, as far as I know its like an overdrive.... while the RC booster is very transparent and ok na ok ang gain ng rc booster... it doesnt add coloration to your tone, you can adjust your GAIN, TREBLE, BASS and VOLUME independently. it sustains very well and it works best if you put it first in your effects chain, and if you have a lot of pedals in your board which could cause you tonal loss, the rc booster can help regain it. It's best used in a strat IMHO.

mabuhay ang drive pedal master na si leech kahit si turi pinanis mo sa distortion/OD collection! hehe!

the AC Booster is more of a tone shaping booster than the RC Booster. in my other board, i only have one drive pedal kaya yung AC Booster yung pangpataba ko ng tunog or pang-standalone overdrive ko. all i can say is.. WOW. really natural tone. i use that board with my LP most of the time :)
