men, pamilyar ka ba dun s 4-cable method?  Kung nagawa mo na, saang amp?  Ano mas prefer mo sa dalawa as far as dami at useability ng effects?

yes, any amp na may effects loop.. pede sa 4cable...
but it is best to go direct or use actives...
effects... both can give you almost anything u need...
depende sa song and music na ginagawa mo...
bottom line... if u play every nyt...
more than enough na sila kahit saang application...
very practical...
sa user interface lang sila nag kakatalo...

thanks.

natanong ko lang kasi meron akong gt-3 at vetta.  i assume na kapag tinangal mo yung power amp ng vetta, pareho lang sila nung floor processors ng line6.  ayoko lang sa line6 compared sa gt series ng boss is yung external loop.  sa boss, pwede mo i-place kahit saan yung loop.  sa line6, pwede mo sya i-move, pero after lang ng amp sims.  wala din intelligent harmonies yung line6 (as far as my vetta goes).

some more questions...
can you compare both between sa patch change lag and efx spillovers?
do the post-effects have a 'dry' and 'wet' level setting?  I would like to use it sa parallel effects loop ng amp (sorry I know this is a lazy question. i was actually reading the .pdf manual but then i did something else and never gone through it enough)

Good thing this thread came up as I'm looking to replace my gt-3 with a gt-10 mainly because of program change lag, lack of spillover, and lack of footswitch function jack.  I just started gigging again and I find the moment of silence between passages and program changes kind of annoying.  Pero malaki ang sentimental value ng gt-3 ko kaya I don't want to dive in and sell it for a gt-10 unless it can do what I need or more.

I'm looking forward to hearing from gt-10 or gt-8 owners who actually had gigging experience with it and have used, or tried, the 4-cable method with amps.  I've been researching pero medyo bago pa sila so wala masyadong results.

p.s.  i don't really care for 't.c.' or 'eventides' or 'lexicons' or what not right now as some people might suggest.

re lag when changing patches live... i never really had a problem about that ever
since i started with the ME8... GT3,6,8,10... its more of like... a timing issue of when to change patches within a song... like when ur solo comes up... and then back to ur rhythm tone or patch...
just like singing... phrasing... u know when to inhale and exhale... ahhmm.. parang ganun...

re delay, reverb, mfx trails when switching patches... yes meron syang function now sa GT10... before.. i also never really bothered about it with the 6/8... do u think the audience really notice and care about those? delay trails are great... esp with songs with big endings... but pag mag spill over when changing patches while the song is still playing... yes ok sya.. depende sa settings and arrangement... but most of the time... magulo lang pakinggan... but if u wanna impress fellow musicians... aahhmm... its cool... pede na... hehehe... better keep it clean and clear first.. (ooppss... no pun intended...) :-D

re fx loop... yes... anywhere pede mo sya ilagay... even the effects modules... pede mo sya iplace anywhere... but still.. hehe.. tigas ulo ko... its no big deal for me... unless ur really going for experimental sounds...

"post-effects have a 'dry' and 'wet' level setting?" ---yes... direct and effect levels...

I do not really bother kung ano ang iniisp ng audience or ng ibang tao.  People will have their own opinion by the end of the show or by the end of this writing.  I do not have control over venue acoustics or FOH but I do have control over what I hear from my amp, and I care about my tone/sound.  Thanks for your input anyway…

to other gt-x users, here is a link on hooking up to an amp with efx loops and setting up levels.  He was using an expensive amp.  You don't need to have an expensive amp.  All you need is an amp with a series efx loop (though I think it can be done with parallel loops) -- expensive or cheap alike.  I think they did a good job explaining it...  once you get the hook up, I think it makes for versatile rig versus pluging in front or in the efx return of an amp because it is both.

Wala naman akong napansin na lag time sa set nyo, a. Bigatin nga ang dating, e.

As far as the stompbox forum is concern... meron ka rin namang amp nya, a.

i'm not really trying to hack the thread, so here is another gt-x link:
x3 and gt-10
it's short, but they have different point of views on both.

hi bros,

recently got my gt-10, and i have a question about the send/return loop. i tried the 4-cable method so i can use the preamp of my vox amp while retaining the effects of the gt-10, but i noticed hindi transparent yung loop - it tends to boost the highs.  has this happened with anyone else?  how did you tweak your eq para ma-normalize?

thanks.

Tapslore hi,
Did you already adjust the send/return volume?

Global EQ, you can change your settings to match those of your equipment and the operating environment. Cut some of the high on that, goto page 62 of your manual.

Master Eq is use only for the patch naman pare. What I do is, I play short clean guitar intro or riff then record using LOOP PHRASE then playback at the same time tweaking the EQ to get the exact sound for my patch. Mas madali ito pare even with other effects already ON.

Good luck,
Roger

Or you may go to page 61 of your Manual and set your guitar1 volumn and presence db.....

hi roger!

saw your posts at bossgtcentral :-D.  i performed the input/output level matching process stated in frenchfries' sticky on 4cm... and the sound has improved a lot - for low to mid gain models on my vox valvetronix modeller.  but the sound just gets too digital for the hi-gain models, even when i lower the output level to stop clipping.

i have a feeling the valvetronix, because it has a "digital" signal, just doesn't like the converters of the gt-10.  which is sad, because i love the hi-gain stuff of the vox vs. the gt-10 (who's clean and crunch tones are VERY good).

will try a few more things, maybe using eq or chain placement of the s/r module, but i have a bad feeling i have to get rid of my vox. :-P
