Headphone: Audio Technica ATH-M50 (These are amazing. Definitely worth the money.)

Monitors: JBL LSR305 (Got this recently. Arguably the best monitors in its price range. Stellar reviews anywhere you look.)

Gotta check this out! I still need to buy proper monitors!

Ano gamit niyong drum VST pag nag rerecord kayo along with your guitar? ;)

Try Hydrogen. not as user friendly as commercial ones but its free.

OT:

I use riffworks (free version) for recording song ideas. Its useful especially since I don't have a looper.

Thanks! Can I use it inside my DAW (Reaper)? :)

I don't think you can use it to create beats inside DAWs. i just create the drum loops and export the .wav files that can be used anywhere.

ah yes yesyes! let me start

1. I have my ongoing Post Rock Project here >> Pseudo Project
- I recorded these through my Scarlett 2i2 using Ableton Live 8
- I plug my guitar to my board then to my interface. I applied amplitube 3 for amp-ish sounds then use keFIR for cabinet impulses.
- i used EZDrummer 1 for the first and second EP, i used EZDrummer 2 for the current single and future recordings.
- i mixed the songs, but i had my friend, master them for me.

2. I have all my guitar covers (old & new) and bunch of random stuff in my YouTube Channel. >> slipperstsinelas
- Old recordings are recorded using my Zoom G2.1u and Acoustica Mixcraft (circa 2009-2013)
- New recordings and covers are recorded using my current set-up.
- I use Adobe Premiere Pro to sync my recordings and video.

3. Currently I am working with a new band Fuera. We're trying some experimental math rock / post rock instrumentals >> Fuera
- We record the drums using an electric drums through MIDI and having EZDrummer as the samples.
- Guitar and bass are plugged to a DI Box then to my amp and to my Tascam US1200.
- DI tracks are processed using Amplitube 3.

Hello, newbie here sa recording. Question ko lang kasi, nag-cli-clip yung record. Paano ba ma-avoid yun?

I'm using Line 6 podfarm > Reaper. Then Philips Headphones and/or Edifie Prisma as monitor.

You can look it up more for more info.

I have a question tho, paano bubuhayin ang final mix?

i compared my mixdown to a friends version. this friend of mine works in a real studio talaga. we both used Logic to mix it, pero yung sa kanya "buhay na buhay." meaning, litaw lahat ng instruments at voice, pero di nagpepeak :|

In my experience, it's a magic they don't teach, or even show at all.

Hahahaha

Here's what ive learned so far in my experiments on mastering tracks.

Disclaimer: This stuff might be wrong, but i find it working for me.

- Multiband Compression is a big help
- Multiband Dynamics is a big help too
- Saturators are like glue for your tracks
- Since youve mixed your tracks already in the mixing process, not much of EQ should be applied to the "Master" track.
- My master level is always set a couple levels down (sometimes lower -10db) ...bigger headroom, the better.
- increase volume in applying compression and multiband dynamics.
- its also good to know what is eating most of your headroom, para masolusyunan kaagad.

I hope it helps :)

I'm not fancy as some simple lang na gamit ko and makes the job done

Guitar> Blackstar amp using emulated out put direct sa laptop. DAW I'm using is FL Studio, EZ drummer sa drum VST, Some plugins such as ts808, compressors, a plugin that looks like a bbe sonic stomp forgot the name and eq's yun lang

Before I have a guitar > pedalboard > amp> used a zoom G2 as audio interface minsan naka miced in yung amp through a 6 channel mixer direct sa laptop tapos DAW ko Reaper. Sometimes I also use a EZ mix to help with mixing and other plugins din.

I don't know IMO and Im not an expert with this but the simpler setup makes it easier and convenient for me to record lalo na kung biglaan yung ideas. With a simpler setup I can get same results as the one I have before na madaming wires and madaming kelangan i setup. I guess its all about mixing and doodling with eq's to make a very nice recording. That's my experience I guess..

Yeah man..Ok naman Zoom eh. My pagkadigital talaga amp sims nila kaya maganda pa din pag galing mismo sa amp yung tunog. Pero as an interface ok na din sama mo pa yung noise reduction nila na useful din sa recording. I just learned a few weeks ago na emulated out ng amp ko sounded like a 4x12 when used and it is also confirmed by other users. Mas nagagamit ko pa yung emulated out kaysa sa usb port nung amp for recording. hehe

I have an identical problem before, pero with samson g-track, lagi nakaclip, ang culprit diyan win7(malamang win7 ang os mo) naka +30db automatic ang win 7, gawin mo change the volume(it uses percentage as measure, baguhin mo gain mong db tapos set mo sa -3!
