Does anybody remember what local music award the late Lito Molina disagreed with when the title "Best Male Jazz Performer" was given to Rico J. Puno?  :?

That was the Cecil Awards. Lito got his stroke because of the deliberations for that award. He never played alto sax again.

The common saying that the ears are the ultimate judge in music production? To some extent they certainly are, but as we are now aware, they can also be fooled extremely easily. -- "How The Ear Works" (2011) by Emmanuel Deruty

JAZZ IS NOT ABOUT THE SPEED..ITS ABOUT THE KNWLEGE ON HOW YOU BEND THE RULES OF THE SO CALLED "THEORY"....THE BEST JAZZ PERFORMER IS THE ONE WHO EMBRACES THE DICIPLINE OF JAZZ AND PLAYS IT WITH ACCDNGLY WITH HIS MIND AND HEART.

Writing isn't about using all capital letters. Part of it is about using the proper spelling too.

mga sir have you heard about jaawe lang ung member sila

Harry Tambuatco - Drums
Abing Lavapis - Bass
Tateng Katindig - Acoustic Piano
Terry Undag - Flugel Horn & Trumpet
Eddie K. - Vibraphone
Dix Lucero - Alto Sax

info about them pls tell me ang galing nila mga sirs of jazz...

tito abeng lavapiz is primarily a jazz guitarist who got convinced by harry tambuatco to play upright bass for him at his former resto harry's grill--ewan ko kung meron pang harry's grill, pero mukhang wala na.

astig yan si tito abeng, parati akong tambay sa bahay nyan sa las pinas--d ko pede sabihin kung saan for his own privacy.

jim hall ang parating banggit sakin nyan..and i learned a few tricks from him.he would also tell stories of his sessions for tv commercials such as gillete and whatver.

he had an old gibson hollowbody..sunburst ang kulay. matindi. pero simple lang ang buhay, mahilig mangalikot ng electronics..even loaned me an old issue of guitar player--w/c i still have.

basically nag iinuman kami sa porch nila ng red horse at masarap ka-jamming, kahit ang taas ng level ni maestro.
