ah guys going back to the topic....

just remember .. when doing this snare in front thing of the bass drum..

2" >> 3" inches distance from the bass drum and then tune the reso higher.... and tune the batter head lower
pra mas malakas yung impact ng buzz dun sa snare.. and also .. dont over tighten the throw off of the snare...

ayus ganyan din ginawa ko.... nag eexperiment pa ko eh... tingin ko mas maganda tunog neto pag naka mic in. para mas dinig yung buzz..
PEACE.... PEACE.... PEACE.... PEACE....

a kick with a buzz...quite interesting and creative...  :-) :-) :-)

here's the yamaha subkick, looks like what you guys have in mind but it has a different purpose and intended effect, its more of a microphone...a 20k petots mic at that!

hmmm.. interesting.. you mean by reverse wire is changing the polarity of the speaker? tama ba? and that will give you a mic effect?

speakers are mics, mics are speakers

no need to reverse polarity just plug in your speaker on an unbalanced mic in

well, yes, you're right. you don't need to change the polarity. but that's what they did for the subkick. speakers and mics are both transducers. one time i even used a headphone as a mic, and a mic as a headphone.
