Whichever finger you finally decide to put the slide on, the finger before the slide should be used to mute or dampen the other strings para malinis ang tunog.

Galing tol ah! feeling ko nasa desert ako smoking a Marlboro in the sunset.

anong effect ang gamit mo tol? Tremolo ba to? tsaka when doing a slide, did you have to change your tuning to an Open one? Kung open tuning ano yung adviseable tuning for slide?

I suggest you check out warren haynes instructional vcd. there's a section there where he discusses slide techniques, such as muting behind the slide, muring with your fingers, vibrato, etc.

or you may follow this notebook cover quote: "Make your own path, but leave a trail behind you" solitude and experimentation will lead you towards individuality ;)

eg: my eccentricity draws me to play slide sometimes the way satch divebombs with his whammy, heheheh ;) sounds cool, but my neighbors don't agree with me...

One of the popular 70's rock song is Free Bird by Lynyrd Skynyrd! Listen to it bro. Pati yung Bullet the Blue Sky ng U2 and Sepultura.
