John Mclaughlin and FZ. :)

For the clean slide tone: George Harrison
I'd rather be sharp than flat.

john frusciante, Stevie ray, Dave aguirre.

IMO, my tone stayed constant throughout the years, regardless of what i used. i think it was more of the licks that i used that made me [think that i] sound like them.

feeling ko lang. :)

How about these, mark:

"...the meek shall inherit nothing..."

"...she held my balls in a vise but she left the [sausage], I guess it's still hooked on but now it shoots too quick..." (Bobby Brown goes down)

"Disco boy, thats the way it goes, so wipe your nose and try it again to get a little pussy tomorrow...disco boy, you're no one understands - but thank the lord that you still got hands to help you do the jerking that will wipe out the disco sorrow." (Disco Boy)

Try out these tracks for the Zappa tone that I'm shooting for:

"Magic Fingers" (200 motels)
"Chunga's Revenge" (Chunga's Revenge)
"Muffin Man (live)" (Baby Snakes OST)
"Sharleena" (Chunga's Revenge)
"Five Five Five" (Shut up and play your guitar Disc 1)
"I'm the slime (live)" (his guesting on SNL)

As for Mclaughlin, I like his tone on these LPs:

with Miles Davis:

Tribute to Jack Johnson
Bitches Brew
Live-Evil

Mahavishnu Orchestra:

Inner Mounting Flame
The Lost Trident Sessions
I'd rather be sharp than flat.

Yung kay Paul Gilbert medyo madali lang, vintage lead channel sa Bandit tapos konti EQ tapos mid pickup nung RG ko, medyo kuha yung tone niya sa Intense Rock I intro at Down to Mexico.  Medyo manipis tunog niya don e.

Yng kay Slash at JoSat work in progress.

ako depende kung crunch  Keith Richards,
kung hard rock Angus Young
kung blues with slide Eric Clapton/Black Crowes
blues without slide  Hendrix/SRV

I try to achieve this tones using a tech21 sans amp classic and a washburn idol series WI6b. No amp yet,

G.A.S.I.N.G.  for a marshall valvestate made in england or a peavey bandit, and a greco LP sunburst copy lawsuit era being sold for 3.5k only
