Life is too fecking short, man. One woman man lang naman ako kahit na nuon, pero hindi sa gitara.

Pareng Joric...what model is your SG? dami mong guitara na meng...ilan at ano ano nga yon?

I convince myself (and si kumander) na hindi marami because I have ONLY ONE of:

1 Tele (MIJ Fender 52ri natural blonde/butterscotch)
1 Strat (MIJ Tokai 54ri two-tone burst)
1 Les Paul w/ HBs (Yamaha Studio Lord 59 copy, cherryburst)
1 Les Paul w/ P90s (Tokai 56ri goldtop)
1 SG (Epi copy, cherry red)
1 335 (MIJ Hondo ES335)
1 resonator (Johnson style O)
1 acoustic (OOO Johnson)

o di ba ISA LANG?  hehe... yun lang naman talaga pangarap ko -- get 1 each of the classic style gtrs at good prices (kaya MIJ/MIC sana) and stop the GAS!  when i buy a guitar, it will be only to upgrade any of these, not to just keep adding. i'm not rich -- kailangan umikot ung gear.

i'll do a family pic one of these days.

i hate trying out SGs and LPs coz i might love them.

i recently repelled my GASsing for PRS'na SEs....same w/the soapbar SEs....

i bought an ibanez prestige instead, coz i figured i can always sell that when i get tired of it.

but when i buy a les paul or sg type guitar, im afraid it's for keeps na!

nyahahahaha
guitarist telling the drummer what the intro to laklak was. caught on video.at binilangan pa ang drummer 1-2...1-2-3..lol

Had a nice Gibson SG a few years ago, easily one of the best guitars I've owned. Somebody once told me that it was the "Tele" of Gibsons, probly referring to its brighter, clearer tone (compared to LPs).

Again, sold to finance my relocation..... haaaayyyy....

The more I see pics of SGs and hear people's testimonials, the more I GAS for an SG even tho I already have one!  It's like looking for the "better" Strat, or Tele, or LP even tho you already 3 of each them...

itong pic galing sa http://everythingsg.com/forum/index.php?topic=5353.0

ito article from guitar & bass magazine

HORNY DEVILS

If you are a player of a certain age then the chances that an SG was the first “real” guitar you got your hands on - and if you're 17 and in a punk band you might well be playing one, too. This sculptured, high-power classic has been driving rock, pop and blues for 40 years and more. Tony bacon has the Inside story of Gibson's slimmed-down rocker

SG is lightweight compared to a LES PAUL.  Yes, it is on the brighter side as Perf hinted.  Me playing my friend's SG.

tone? panalo! brighter and clearer and mas galit pag distorted than ur regular lp.  none of that muddines many LPs seem to suffer from.

playability (in my case, for slide) is perfect. only thing i don't like is the neck tipping down. i've bought a wide leather gamusa strap para kumapit.

so far, i haven't been concerned about the headstock. hindi naman kasi kasing vintage classic gaya ng LP or Fender Strat/Tele ang SG eh.  pasaway na design sya so ok lang kung pasaway ung headstock.  having said that, whenever i can "upgrade" to correct specs whilst maintaining or improving tone, i'll go for it.  but for now, the tone of this gtr makes it a keeper in my arsenal as a dedicated slide gtr.  i've researched a long time on what would make an ideal slide guitar for me and now i've found it.  i'm done w/ THAT party of my GAS. :-)

Sori for the late reply...

I use 11s sa SG, forgot the brand. Pero I don't find the tone of my SG 'bassy' to start with. If anything, 11s add a bit more bass to it than if I had used 10s or smaller gauge.

Ok, post ko rin dito sa SG blog itong "Felix BaKat Scandal" video ko.  "Now out on dibidi at Tower Recto. Get your copy now!"  Hehe...

Warning: Do not launch video if you are not sure of your manhood!  If you are a certified 'girlhood', well, enjoy the view! :-)

Btw, the tune is In A Magenta Haze by Duke Ellington.  Guitar is Epi SG with Gibson 490R/498Ts.  Amp is a Blues Deluxe.

I love mine.  The Gibson '57 Classic and '57 Classic PLUS can give me some Les Paul-ish clean tones (less top end though) but they can be real good shred machines.  Full access to the 22nd fret!!!
