OK folks, stay calm. CALM LIKE A BOMB that is, because the only rap-rock band we actually remember (somewhat) fondly is back. That's right, as reported by the Los Angeles Times and confirmed by the festival's organizers, Rage Against the Machine will come out of retirement to play the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, taking place April 27-29 at Empire Polo Field in Indio, California.

Rage will headline the festival's final night, April 29, while Björk will headline on Friday, April 27 and the Red Hot Chili Peppers on Saturday, April 28. (Ugh Why do the Red Hot Chili Peppers always have to come around and ruin these sorts of things?)

Other awesome artists confirmed to play Coachella: the Arcade Fire, Interpol, Willie Nelson, the Roots, Manu Chao, the Decemberists, Arctic Monkeys, Sonic Youth, and Air. Other debatably awesome artists confirmed to play Coachella: Crowded House, Tiësto, and Kings of Leon.

And although the festival hasn't officially announced it yet, !!!, LCD Soundsystem, and Lupe Fiasco are also playing Coachella, as we've gathered from previous news stories.

yeah eddie hated him but dave never hated anybody from them infact friends pa rin sila ni Jeff Ament ngayon alam ko nagkaroon pa sila ng collab after he was fired from pearl jam... well dun talaga sila sumikat eh sa era ni dave abbruzzese most unforgettable era of pearl jam... mas ok yung chemistry nila noon... sabi wala daw sila chemistry noon cguro sa sariling opinion nila yun dahil cguro hindi yun yung gusto talaga nila tunog pero dun sila sumikat eh.. kung pakinggan mo yung mga pinaluan ni cameron ngayon parang wala ng character yung mga kanta nila eh thought fave song ko rin yung evacuation at light years

i love dave a hell lot better than cameron... galing sumalo ng cymbals, hahaha... i wonder if his wrists are ok now? i remember he had tunnel carpal syndrome from all those sessions (the perils of being the "in" thing).

anyway, back to RATM ...

i never realized i miss them 'til i saw them on the concert DVD lying around here at home ... and oh, its also good that the kupaw era ended. that was the worst time really... it made me ignore a lot of heavy music eventhough ok naman yung iba.

no, audioslave has not disbanded yet and i think this is just a one-time gig for rage against the machine. you know, coachella offers huge gobs of money for now defunct bands to reunite. and i mean really really huge.

it happened to the pixies. it happened to the horrendous billy idol.  (thank god it didn't happen to the smiths and cocteau twins[but liz fraizer performed with massive attack anyways].) now, it's about to happen to ratm and jesus and mary chain.
