Running pedals in Parallel

I've found this feature sa HX Effects na pwede akong mag parallel effects and medyo maganda yung nakukuha ko na results. Here's one patch that i did:

Guitar -> OCD style Distortion for Path A
Guitar -> BK Butler Tube Drive style Distortion for Path B

Then Path A and Path B will join tapos sa dulo may Spring Reverb then derecho na sa clean amp. It doesn't sound more distorted or louder...it just sounds big.

I've also seen a couple of stand alone pedals that can run effects in parallel into a single amp. Anyone tried running pedals in parallel..or kahit via parallel effects loop (if available sa amp nyo)?

Ginagawa ko to in amplitube na parallel sila from the stomps hanggang amp then pagsamahin sa rack. Medyo mahirap lang mag blend ng tunog but if you get it, it sounds good.

I remember nag  try ko experiment eh Mix digitaL and analogl dist ng Korg AX3 (Digital) and Zoom Tri Metal (Analog) + Boss CH1.  Using Boss Line Selector. Meron Mode doon na pwede mo mix parallel yung two loops send A and send B. I remember I liked it a lot, may hum nga lang hehe. But hindi ko lang na maintain yung ganun na setup kuz may need ko other routing

You have to be careful running fx in parallel then combining them afterwards. I've been toying with this idea in the AxeFx, doubling the signal can ruin your tone.

I run my delay and reverb in parallel. Yung main signal lang ang may reverb, the delay repeats walang reverb

Oh okay. Thanks for this. Di ko pa nasubukan mag parallel ng Delays and Reverbs. I will give that a try

Another sound I like is the EVH (Sammy Hagar era) distorted tone. It's two delayed pitch shifers, left side is +9 cent and right is - 9 cent with a pre delay of 10ms on both and low on mix. Basically a subtle chorus effect. Feed it to a 5150 amp head tapos dual delay (400ms and 1sec)

Pinakinggan ko ulit Poundcake sa F.U.C.K. album. Now i know why it sounds so huge. Thanks for the info. Although syempre a lot of studio trickery is happening but still...it sounds massive.

Now i wonder, did Eddie do the same sa "OU812" album, specifically sa "Cabo Wabo"?

good thing about amplifiers in parallel is it gives more bandwidth that's for sure.. medyo ingat lang din po sa impedance.. kahit po papaano ay nabasa po natin ang manuals ng mga pedals most especially po kung 2 or more pedals and/or loops of pedals ang naka parallel.. most especially the last pedal on the loop or near the amp..

e.g.   

 boss ds-1 (1kΩ)
 boss ds-1 (1kΩ)

two 1kΩ in parallel will yield 500Ω
three 1kΩ in parallel will yield 333.333Ω
four 1kΩ in parallel will yield 250Ω
so forth and so on..

not only will affect your impedance but your tone as well.. a little lower impedance will make your tone a little trebly (tunog lata) sayang yun bandwidth and a possible ground loop and noise..

and so konting ingat..

but apparently if it's within the software ng multifx yun pagpa-parallel.. i know line 6 engineers got it all covered.. so "touché".. cheers!
