screw holes in a closed-back thiele cab...

folks, i recently removed one of the handles on my thiele-style closed back cab and noticed that the screws used were about an inch and a half long - tumagos yun to the other side for sure.  my question: considering that the construction of a thiele cab depends on "airtight" fits, do i need to bother sealing the screw holes?
