Is there a difference in tone, sustain, etc. if I take out the backplate on my Strat?

nope...however, your belt might catch on the trem cavity:) i just leave it off for faster trme spring adjustments.

+1 tsaka mag brip ka en wag dapat bukas zipper mo! aray pag sumabit hehe...

add ko pa na mas madali magpalit ng strings...hirap sa fender minsan kung baket di tapat yung mga holes nung backplate sa mismong butas nung tremblock, kainis.

basta don't forget to zip up....in my case...I have Ibanez's and can easily change my strings w/o taking out the back plate.
