Making the big DSLR leap...
« on: July 21, 2007, 11:34:45 PM »
It's the time when the old Point-and-Shoot Kodak no longer satisfies the inner amateurish photographer in me. :-D I have absolutely no experience in DSLR's, and a very limited budget.

I'm looking at the Nikon D40 as the Canon EOS300D is all but phased out. My question is, do any stores or distributors (Columbia, Mayer, Henry's.. etc) offer installment plans on both CDSC and gray DSLRs? If so, what do these require? Thanks! :-)

I don't think the stores in Hidalgo offer installment plans... Your best bets for installment purchases are Infomaxx, (Park Square 1, Greenhills Theater Mall, Megamall) or Ambassador (V-Mall, Edsa Shangrila, Park Square 1). But the prices in these stores are significantly higher compared to the shops in Hidalgo. You can also try Jerry Tieng. He offers installment too... Nikon nga lang...

Thanks Sir Din! Jerry's site lists installment on only a few units. The Gray D40X Nav Kits don't seem to have them. And he's all out of plain D40's! :-(

Anyway, how much more expensive are the prices in Infomaxx or Ambasador? I was in Hidalgo yesterday and the D40 kit was 23k.

does it have to be brand new? there are great deals on second hand cameras that you'll find in photography forums like pinoyphotography.org
way too much GAS, way too little cash

I'm not really sure but, I think the D40 is around 30k in Infomax.

The Best thing to do is DONT look at the classified section anymore and SAVE up for you GAS in Photography... than looking for an installment plan.
