i haven't tried both but an old solid top would generally sound better than a new one but you may have to spend more depending on the condition of the old guitar

I didn't like the slim profile of the body and the neck of dnd but the sound is really promising. I would still go for morris

i own a good sounding DnD, but i think Morris has better reviews and credibility than DnD!!!

Go for a 2nd hand Morris and im sure you wont regret it...
