Any specific recommendations to make a snare made out of poplar wood sound warmer? Heads, # of snare wires, tuning(resonant or  batter side), etc....?     :-)

TIA

want a warm sound? believe it or not, gamit ka ng may punit na head

i really thought the warmth came from the "vintagey-ness" of the snare until i cleaned it one day and found that a portion of the batter head was ripped off from the metal ring. around 5 inches long. it seems sira na talaga yung head nung bilin ko yung snare and took me 6 months to figure out that it was broken but it sounds really good it doesnt matter anymore.

help naman. nag restore ako ng generic metal snare, painted it and bought new batter head, remo encore coated ambassador and new gibraltar snare wire 20 strands. ano kayang magandang  reso para makuha ung gusto kong tunog na "pak". parang tunog na gamit ni vic mercado. and magkano kaya ang pinaka murang throw off kasi parang masisira narin sya.

Hello everyone,

I am an occasional drummer so I'd like to hear your inputs on the matter:

Offhand, I am for coated skins. I have brass snare and a wood snare. However, what i like like to know is this:
What are the unique differences between 12", 13" and 14" snares?

-feel free to share your experiences and preferences. thanks, god bless...

Habang lumiliit, nagiging less sensitive. I can't get the snares of a PDP 10 inch snare to buzz pag mahina ang palo (tunog timbale halos..baka set-up lang?). Pero partida ang ganda nya pag nilalakasan. I don't know about 12 inch though, baka ok lang. 13 inch is still fine.

Habang lumiliit, lumiliit din ang tuning range. In this aspect, parang magandang compromise na ang 14 inch.

To add about the tuning range, mas mataas din ang range ng 13 sa 14, if going for the same high pitch, medyo choked na sa 14 pero kaya pa ng 13, and vice versa naman ngarag na sa 13 pero kaya sa 14 for the same lower pitch...kumbaga magkadugtong ang range ng 13 and 14 with a bit of overlap siguro...don't know the difference between metal and wood as far as material goes kasi parehong wood ako, isang 13 and isang 14...still looking for a nice deal for a metal snare

:D

Hehe!

Mga Sir!What can you say about the Mapex Birch Snare sa Music source? It's on sale for 4k just wondering if its worth a try. I play metal music and currently on a stock sonor 507 snare. Is it a good upgrade or should i save more and buy something much better? so i need some advice and comments about this. Thanks in advance! :)

Hindi porket DieCast Hoops, better na. this is a fallacy.

I use my 5x14 Gretsch Renown Maple pag medyo malaki ang venue, then pag tama lang I'm using 5x13 Omar Hakim, and of course my AUX snare 6x10 PDP snare. For me napaka versatile ng 5x14 na snare not too loud, not too soft and very easy to tune
