Sir Sandy, I called up JB Harisson, you are right may discount pa nga yung firecracker snare, but I was looking for the metal/brass kind kasi wood na yun catalina ash ko, do you have any news if the the metal/brass kind will be available at pati na din chad smith sig. snare. I have started saving up for those two snares in case maging available sila sa market!

I was able to test one at a local Guitar Center, maybe it was just my personal preference to start that there was nothing unique about that snare at all. Sounds just like any ordinary steel snare with no character. Then I searched around and found out that people had the same perception about it. Believe it or not Chad Smith himself has been spotted using a different snare on clinics and events. I was turned off when insiders said they never saw Chad use his "signature" snare. I am not saying Chad does not use it, it's just that no one ever saw him use it.

Check out Pearl Drummers Forum, there should be a thread about it there.

But as we always say, to each is his own, so try it out, who knows it might be for you!

Joey Jordison Owners let me have you attention.

I did a Tuning/tension study so please take note.

Game!!!

Considerations:
1. I installed a slightly used REMO USA Coated Ambs.
2. Bottom head is Fairly tight.
3. Snare wires is medium tight so it will not choke the drum.
4. 14 in Snare will sound VERy different from 13 in Snare okay? 14 is generally open sounding and 13 inches is kinda "compressed" meaning the tone is more focused.

Tension Glosarry

Super tight (95% tighened)
- Sound is quick and lots of high mids. You'll literally cover your ears. The sound will work well for RNB guys here. But it has repercussions, the body of the sound is so thin. Meaning the roundness of sound is almost wala na. So bale the 6.5in deep only contributes to the volume na lang not the body. The sound is good for secondary snare.

Fairly Tight (90% tightened)
- Sound is almost the same with the Super tight tension but with added body. You'll noticed the change. Good for today's POP music. The the favorite sound of Franklin and Jeff lima (i guess so).

Medium Tight (85% Tightened)
- My favorite sound! Balanced High Mids and body. It's like a quick sound piccolo sound with body and depth! Basta it's the sound for me! Highly recommended!

Medium Tension (70-75% Tightened)
- Okay ren sakin to. Imagine the sound of a 14x6.5 steel snare but in a more focused tone. Sound is compressed compared to a more open 14 inches snares. I really like the body with a bit of ring. Good for POP and ballads.

Fairly loose (70 below tension)
- Buzzy and Ringy. Who likes that sound anyway?

You guys should experiment kasi ibaina tayu nang taste. Pero one thing i appreciate with this Snare. It has alot of dynamics on it. Kala ko maganda lang sound nya pag Super tight like what others say.

Please post your comments about this study ha!!!
O sa mga wala pa! BILI na!!! Hehehe!!!!

Sir Jecster, I'm confused. Magkano po ba talaga ang sale prices ng mga Vision? Sa website, it's 58,950. Sabi sa kin sa JB Pampanga may 20% off yun, edi 47,160. The guy even computed it and it's 47+K. That's the VLX.

The Vision drums are worth 46K.  That's already the discounted price because of the current sale.

Sir Drumster confirmed this 46K is the VSX. Only 1K+ difference with the lacquer finish?

Guys nakita ko sa JB kanina bago ko pumasok.

Pearl VLX925 drumset with Zildjian ZBT 4 - 59,968.00
Pearl VSX925 drumset with Zildjian ZBT 4 - 56,662.00

me kasama pang Zildjian drumstick daw yan.

...but what about this? 59,968 with ZBT4 and sticks. 59,968 minus 47,160 = 12,808 which is an OK deal for the bundled ZBT4 and sticks. Pero sa Pampanga, if I'm not mistaken ba't Planet Z3 yung naka-bundle? Couldn't remember the price though.

To make things even more confusing, I have the Christmas Gift Guide Sale flyer and it says here VLX + Planet Z4 + Sticks for 52,770 (regular 69,434)! How many bundle deals ba ang available sir?  :?

Eto yung pix ng VSX. 43,680 yung sale shell pack price eh. Naka Sensitone Snare kana!

VSX for 43,680? I'm assuming this already has the 900 Hardware dahil kung wala, edi ang mahal naman? And this is inconsistent with Drumster's 46K VSX.

Could you enlighten us sir? Ba't parang ang gulo?  :?  :-D

Oo nga Sir, minsan parang magulo yung pricing sa ibang branch ng JB and Salonga. Minsan iba yung number of discount na binbigay ng ibang branch or even the price itself. tnx po.

And who would've thought magkakaroon ng maple na Visions!? The 6-pc in Vintage Wine looks great! Waah, paging Sir Jecster! Kelan po dadating mga 'to?  :-D

*What's good about the VMX is shell packs yung configuration. So you can choose your own hardware.

I mean how can you not fall in love with this?:
