Nasira kse ipod ko yung may dead ipod icon.. nabuksan ko na rin cya... dinisconnect ko na ung hard disk nya.. then tried opening it again pero wla pa rin eh.. any ideas?

They might just advise you to get a new ipod if repair costs come close to the brand new price...
My 3rd gen ipod died on me a few months ago. A folder with a "!" sign comes out whenever i turn it on. There is also a crackling sound that can be heard. When I brought it to a service center, they said the hard disk is the problem. It might reach around 11k if I decide to get it fixed. They can't even assure me if all the songs will be retained. (Which I doubt)
Since a new 30gb ipod video costs around 12k, they advised me to get a new one. Ngayon hati nalang kami ng wife ko sa 60gb ipod niya... 30gb for me, 30gb for her... Yun nga lang, may backstreet boys at justin timberlake sa playlists if I play it on shuffle mode...

may napanood ako sa tech TV (call for help yata or the screensavers) dati how to replace your ipod's hard disk by yourselves... ordinary laptop HD's lang ang gamit nila (pro may specific size) .. kailangan mo nga lang tungkabin yung gilid ng ipod mo w/c would leave a mark..
jomar paarbor mo na lang kasi sakin yan ehehehe

Hmm, 'kaw naman. Apple ang gumawa ng Ipod mo, e. :wink:
I suppose wala pang nagseservice? Not sure.
Yeah, service can be pricey. At least, with the Apple Centers, you get warranty for the service. If you need to resell the unit, at least you can say you had it fixed where it should be, di ba?

The Procedure:
Tools needed:
(1) Wiha 1.5mm flat head screwdriver
(1) Wiha Philips #000 screwdriver
(1) Needle nose pliers or medical (Kelly type) hemostats
(1) Hair dryer
To help illustrate my disassembly adventure, view the iPod mini autopsy photos and follow along.
To begin with, make sure the ‘Hold’ button is locked into the ON position (showing orange) to prevent the internal components to be turning on while you are taking it apart....
