awrayt yung dirt pero mas awrayt yung clean!!!

.....sige na nga awrayt na nga pareho....hehehehehhe... :-D
I know you were gonna say that....you are a clean tone fanatic.  :-D

Me too and I agree w/ voodoochild.  Mas litaw yung 335 tone. Ganda!

And great licks, Phil. I've never heard you play that way before.  You certainly can dig deep into your bag of tricks and into your soul.

sarap lang kasi pakinggan ng clean tone...strat..tele..335s...anu pa ba?prs?...astig ang clean tone men...pero syempre malaking part yung soulful playing mo meyn, ikanga ni bosing joric...ibang phil yung clean clip men...b.b. phil!!!naks..kip up it men!!!

Here's a short very raw clip of my Gibson ES335 and my Carvin Nomad amp.

No effects added ...just the guitar plugged straight to the amp. Neck pickup all throught....the rhythm is the guitar at middle position.

and here it is with the Nomad's gain at 4 all EQ at 5
added a little delay in the mix to get that Larry Carlton effect... hehehe

btw, phil. yung approach mo sa dirty clip mo reminds me of Santana's Blues for Salvador -- one of the most harrowing gtr instrumentals i've ever heard.  record ka pa ng mga ganung style, bro.

Ganda ng tone, sir!

Ganda rin ng licks.....from the heart! Wish I had phrasing like that....... :-D

Ano pala ginamit mo pang backing track sa "dirty" clip?
thank you. Are you really a "radio station exp...expert"? The great Mr. Perf De Castro gave it to me. I don't know where he got it.  :-)

Nope. Not an expert in anything!  :-D  Got my name from the beginning of the Hendrix album "Axis: Bold As Love" where the pseudo radio interviewer with the tiny voice says "Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to Radio EXP...." Obvious ba--"Hendrix freak"  :-D

Wonder if gawa ni Master Perf and backing track, ayus e.  :-)

Just starting to record myself para mapag-aralan ang mga sabit and to see if my licks sound matino...hehehe Is that how you developed your phrasing Phil?
[/quote]  I just listen to different types of music..... no rap though.  Some of it just comes out in the open. I don't even know that I have it in me. Just expose yourself to different type of music..... and when you hold that axe...hold it like theres no tomorrow. .... play it with conviction ... sucking every note and squeezing the beejesus out of that guitar.   :-D

... I might do that.....really different from what I am used to.... who knows ....this ES335 just have a strange effect on me. I hope it doesn't interfere with my sex life.  :-D

I use a USB interface as of now...which is not really the best way.(will upgrade to firewire later on). I use a TASCAM US-224 mixer/usb interface and a Sonar 6- PE Edition. I use a Shure SM57 mic pointed directly to the cone of the speaker. The speaker is a Celestion Vintage 30 8ohm version.

To get the best tone, I move the mic between the center of the speaker up to the outer circumference of the speaker. Usually, when I want a balanced tone I go like 3  inches offset the center of a 12" speaker. I usually strike a string or chord and then move the mic from left to right and using a headphone....so you can actually hear what the recorded tone is gonna sound like. Distance between the speaker grill and mic depends on the volume that you can go. I live in a townhouse so I usually press it directly to the grill. If you have the chance to crank the volume of your amp, go 1 to 2 inches max.

Gears used:
guitar - Gibson ES335
amp - 1x12 Carvin vintage series "Nomad" (EL84) tube amp.

Hope this helps.

ganda ng tone and licks and thanks sa recording tip sir!  8-)
when in doubt.....yank the whammy bar!
