Hi patulong naman po in buying this guitar

I was looking for a semi hollow guitar, es335 copy po, or a good solid body, les paul copy etc.then nung napunta ako sa mga malls, wala ko makita sa mga stores na gusto ko bilhan na pasok sa budget, siguro mga 10-15k, as much as possible mura lang but good sound and wood. so dahil wala nako makita na yung talagang gusto ko, nakita ko yung rj guitar store, hindi ko talaga gusto pumasok dun di ko kasi gusto guitars nila before, so kaya di talaga ko pumupunta, but dahil mejo desperate i checked out kung ano meron sa kanila ngayon. so i saw a les paul and a semi hollow guitar, i saw the price it's 11999 pesos lang. so i checked on it, it seems good, yung body is good nung tinignan ko. i asked the staff sa store malaman ko "Made in Korea" na daw mga guitars nila na magaganda yung mga gusto ko. So sa specs nung guitar both have "solid mahogany body and neck, tapos rosewood fretboard." So bagay yung kahoy sa tune na gusto ko. mas warm kasi daw diba pag mahogany. i dont know much about the specs ng guitar. but patulong naman po, is it true na made in korea na ang rj guitars? and maganada po ba ang mahogany na body? maganda po kaya itong mga guitar na to? from the specs and details na sinabi ko worth considering ba in buying the items? kung oo, magtetest na ko ng magandang tumunog. so should i consider having these guitars?

Pasok sa budget at nagagandahan ka? Test it. If you like how it feels, then buy it. Yung sound, kung hindi mo magustuhan, madaling remedyuhan because you can easily get better pickups. At posible ring pangit lang ang amp sa shop. Malay mo, pag dinaan mo pala sa board at amp mo, ok ang tunog niya.

And yes, as far as I know, they're made in Korea just like Fernando guitars. Pero that shouldn't matter either. In the end, all that matters is that the guitar is built well and feels right. You can't really make your decision based on other people's opinions. Kung may makita ka bang sobrang gusto mo na gitara at may magsabi na pangit siya, hindi mo na bibilhin?

In any case, tumingin ka rin ng Fernando Les Pauls at Samick Greg Bennett Royales. Baka may magustuhan ka rin.

wow salamat sa magandang reply, i've seen fernandos but havent tried yet, mas ina eye ko yung rj, nung tinry ko without amp check ng konti mukhang decent naman, yung samick royale nga gusto ko sana kaso mejo tumaas na price eh. salamat sir need ko lang ng opinion mga experiences nyo if ever and mga ideas and suggestions para atleast alam ko kakaharapin ko pag yun ang binili ko po, tsaka nakakatakot kasi minsan baka sinabi lang na made in Korea or baka hindi pala. well atleast salamat sa info sir, sige magtetest ako dun kung may maganda. nagaalala lang ako kung maganda ba talaga yung wood etc.. naalala ko kasi may kakilala ko bumili ng ovation ba yun sa JB pa ata yun, 16k binili, tapos wala din, laging tumutungo yung neck kahit palitan ng strings na light guage, hanggang ngayon.

any insights pa po? with regards to rj guitars na made in korea? i'm also thinking of magpacustomize kay mang max rufo ng semi hollow es335.

i think most rj's like most of fernando's now are made in china.how about an ibanez as73 pag cash mo bibilhn aabot ng 16k+ with yun kasi may discount..i also saw somewhere sa calssifieds an am73 ibanez baka pasok sa budget mo. then again, it will always boil down to your preference..ang importante is that the guitar speaks to you.kaya its important to test a guitar talaga para malaman mo kung gusto mo yung tunog at feel nya. if it feels and sounds right, yun na yun..i gess kung may 15k budget ka dagdag ka na lang konti for a 2nd hand korea or japan model. or that ibanez as73 or am73.just my suggestion sir. i hope it helps

B. save up a bit more and get yourself a Greco, Tokai, Yamaha SL les paul selling used around here.

you may get the same response in terms of tone from an RJ but when times comes that you wanna move on and sell it, you willl never get the same response as you could from an aged Les Paul. although this is not a rule but generally, i doubt those off-the-rack RJs will ever match with the tone, vibe and feel of the lawsuits.

take note that its not where it was made but how it was made. they can tell you its Korean made but how do they do it in Korea? will it match to the Korean-made Ibanez prestiges/PRS which shames some US made guitars? Even MIK RJs will be put to shame by chinese-made Artcores and Gretschs. dont fixate where its made. focus on two things: how its made and what its made of.

if 15K is your current budget, for a little more, you can nego with some peeps here selling their Les Pauls for 20K-ish.

as for hollowbodies, there is a 20K made in china Burny RSA60 selling in the forum. if serious about it, test the darn thing. and if it suits your hands and gives you that sound you want, that is the guitar for you.

B may not always be better than A. It depends on the purpose.

For example, I wanted a Strat that had very specific features (dual zebra humbuckers, burst finish, gold hardware, custom pickup switching, locking tuners, etc.). What I did was I bought a Fernando Unique Series Strat for 5.4k and upgraded pretty much everything on it. I think I spent around 16k for everything but the guitar now has all the features that I wanted. I doubt I'll find any off-the-shelf guitar with the exact same features that sells for the same price. If I'd gotten a "better" Strat instead, I would have spent way more than 16k to set it up the way my Fernando is right now and I'm pretty sure I won't even hear the difference. YMMV, of course.

I don't have anything against getting "better" guitars though. In fact, I have a lawsuit Fernandes Tele and it's awesome (and I got it really cheap). I'm just saying that it's best to keep an open mind when it comes to these things.

ok po, maraming salamat po sa reply nyo, siguro i'll get a samick royale nalang it's cheaper with duncan design pickups, and atleast may lawsuit and QC as what they say, i'll test nalang, sana makahanap ng maganda. if not siguro ibanez AS nalang gusto ko talaga ES335 copy sana,  pero kung may magandang royale ako makita yun na lang. mas ok din wala ng papalitan, like pick ups etc like my other artcores. maraming salamat po sa mga insights nyo! if ever meron pa kayo massuggest bgyan nyo lang po ako hehe as much as possible kung ok sana 8 to 10k budget pag 2nd hand pag bnew mga gang 12k, parang malabo ako makakita na bnew sa 12k yung royale lang haha. salamat po
