we were at the place early afternoon, just scouting the area (di pa umuulan non). jm was doing a soundcheck, and he played - and i am not kidding - cliffs of dover. seriously, the man is THAT good.
we were positioned at platinum right (i think sina Nong, rednas, lovecore, etc were on the platinum left? pls correct me if i'm wrong), and we got better seats than a lot of celebs hahaha. mas magulo yata yung crowd samin - i noticed everybody on the left side was perfectly fine with standing on the ground, while we were up on the chairs and all that. we were the ones who started up the "mizuno" chant, which jm never did get - it was the brand of one of those huge-ass umbrellas in front of us, and we were chanting for the umbrella to be taken down.
some preliminary observations:
-the extended jam on gravity. so awesome. and the tones, man oh man.
-do you know me, with jm on the ukelele. it was like watching a live dmb gig, with the duel between jm and his saxophonist.
-i seriously, seriously wanted to hear assassin. and neon! sayang, next time na lang haha.
-bugoy: he did play no such thing, i think in the middle of the set.
being caught in the rain was a small price to pay for witnessing firsthand the awesomeness of john mayer's guitar work.
